I just wanted to know that.. If he uses "pulls off" and "hammers on" on his fast Eric Johnson licks..

Does not sound like he's using pull off but maybe a couple of hammer on.......Dont know this for a fact,just what i can get out of my ears when listening:)
I'm sure he throws them in there, but a lot of his stuff is picked which is why its so hard to impersonate.
Yep a few notes are hammered on in the EJ style licks...95% of it is picked though....He never really pulls off
There's a rig rundown somewhere on youtube he did a while back for LickLibrary I think where he plays through each amp, I seem to remember watching the lick then and noticing all was picked.
To me as above 95% sounds picked when he does those runs as well, much different articulation than hammerons/pulloffs or legato. Part of the style...
yeah he mostly picks those runs...
Although to the people saying he never really pulls off on those fast licks, check out the first fast descending lick in 'The Great Divide' solo with BCC, and the fast runs in the 'Live from nowhere in particular' version of 'so many roads. Lots of pull offs in those examples when he descends down shape 1 of the minor pentatonic shape, sounds so fast and smooth
