Hi!
I want to know what Gary Moore songs you guys like best.
I recently discovered blus rock and Gary is one of the best guitarists i have ever seen.
So list up your favourites!
My list is pretty short yet.

I'm going with what influences me most...his playing centred around Thin Lizzy.
Makes me sad watching these videos again (one of my favourite dvds)...but very happy I have all this music to keep listening to.

Impossible task.  My iPod has 566 Gary Moore solo songs, plus songs with Skid Row, Colloseum II, Thin Lizzy, BBM, Greg Lake, etc.  Every album has something to say.  Greatest guitarist ever.

I couldnt possibly pick a favourite song, but my favourite album of his would be 'Blues Alive', amazing live renditions of 'Story of the Blues' and 'Walking by Myself' (which is probably one of the few blues shuffles ive heard that i love).
Gutted ill never get to see him live, he really was one of the most naturally talented guitarists in the world. I actually feel quite emotional watching his 'Live at Montreux 2010' DVD, sounds silly but his music just really resonates with me on levels i cant articulate at the point in my life.

"Wishing Well"...from Corridors of power album.......Gary opened up for Def Leppard in the early 80's...

I'm also a 'Blues for Greeny' fan and my favourites from there are the 8 minute 'Driftin' - one of his best solos, and 'Cold Black Night'

His solo piece dedicated to Randy Rhoads 'Sunset' is very moving and I love his live slow version of 'Don't Believe A Word' from the Lynott Dublin Memorial statue tribute show. But there is so much else. I saw him many times. He was an exciting player, and yes, he could dominate sometimes, but he ALWAYS delivered.

He could do everything and play everything. He remains of the finest guitarists I have ever seen. I play his work often and like SRV and some of the other greats it will stand the test of time.History won't forget him and his work will be discovered by new fans and enjoyed for years to come

Yes I was there to see Gary Moore not Def Leppard...should have been the other way around for the Headliner......:)

Me too.  July 1982.  Def Leppard, Krokus, and Gary Moore.  I feel very fortunate to have seen Gary live in the U.S. as he didn't tour here nearly enough.  Always hoped to go to Europe and see him live once again, but family commitments made that impossible . . . and then it was too late.

My Gary Moore favorites would basically include everything I ever heard him do.

I love the live show with interviews including Albert King and Albert Collins.  (I have the VHS tape.)

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

An Evening Of The Blues.  I have that one on Laser Disc and bootleg DVD.  GREAT show!

Gary's intro part on Stormy Monday is so powerful it causes Albert King to flinch!  And this show has my favorite Gary performance of Midnight Blues.  Certainly one of Gary's best vocal performance ever.

Because I couldn't play the VHS tape in my car, I recorded the whole thing on cassette at the time.  I'm with you, re: Midnight Blues.  Makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck, every time.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.
