Re: Forum players under 21

Guitar sounds nice Jonny. Only thing I can say was I had a little trouble following the rhythm/beat. I think it was because the reverb clashed with both guitar tracks since it was on both tracks. Its a good sounding reverb though! -S

Thanks a lot for the feedback, Seth! Yeah I guess I know what you mean...something I will look out for on my next video! Producing definitely isn't my thing lol

Re: Forum players under 21

If you added the reverb post mic can't you take the original tracks and remix them into another master? Recording acoustic guitars is tough but I think you've got the hang of it. I certainly don't have much experience with it but I think you're on the right track. -S

Reverb was coming from the amp so unable to remove it...all I did was fling my mic round in front of the speaker and hit record...didn't place it anywhere in particular lol

Re: Forum players under 21

I've seen people set a mic stand with mic aimed at the upper register of the neck and recorded it that way. (not over the sound hole) You'd have to try and keep the guitar fairly steady. For basic rhythm of an acoustic you want more of the percussive strumming and not so much of the chord clarity. I honestly don't know if the mic'ing of the upper frets is more for that or if it will work for what you're doing.

Thats girl's guitar would have been tossed across the room if I was him!

Unfortunately in this day and age they are not allowed to lash out in any way, but tonight in their final rehearsal for the school end of year concert tonight a line was crossed and it involved the man himself.... she committed the even worse sin of taking his Joe Bonamassa pick and refused to return it, he lost it and walked away from the band, unfortunately lashing out along the way, - but he got the pick back! - It was the final straw after weeks of being shouted at and demanding that he stop every time she lost her place..They were supposed to be on stage at 6.30pm, he went back to collect his amps and pedals at 5pm... Poor kid, - but he needs to learn from it. He faces the head of year tomorrow morning :-(

That is unfortunate for him. I wouldn't have been able to control myself either, but oh well, hopefully he'll move on to playing with real musicians like himself and not bratty kids (like her). Just tell him its cool for a guitarist to be banned or kicked out of places wink

Well this is just great! I wish I head your vocal talent, I´m taking lessons but still, you´re sounding great!
And pretty cool Songwriting too, nothing unnecessary or too fancy just pure emotion, I like it very much!
