Topic: Hello

Thought I had should introduce myself and my husband since we have been utilizing your site for a little while now. We first encountered Joe when my husband was flicking channels and we came across the RAH on PBS in March. We were like, who is this guy and how come we don't know anything about him?! The next day I bought the RAH cd and and have been totally hooked ever since. We have always enjoyed music, my husband was a deadhead when I met him in college and I was obsessed with Floyd and Zeppelin. We have been to many concerts over the years, my husband about 100 dead shows, me about 50. And at least 50 to 60 other concerts (Floyd, Page and Plant, Clapton, Neil Young, Allman Brothers, to name a few) Over the past number of years, though, we had been lamenting the fact that there was nothing new that was good to hear. Little did we know that there was. Since happening onto Joe, we have been to see him live twice, Pittsburgh and Montreux. We couldn't pass up seeing him in Europe since we had already planned a family trip to Italy, and Switzerland was so close. What an incredible concert that was. And now we are looking forward to the Warner Theatre in November. I admit I have become totally addicted and thankfully I have a husband who downloads concerts for me to keep my addiction fed.

Re: Hello

Welcome to you and your husband Natasha. Lots of similar backgrounds can be found amongst the posters here, including me. That "Who is this guy!" experience is sure an eye opener and musical salvation. Real music! Enjoy the adventure as Joe continues to amaze us with his musical feats and prowess. Hang on, it's a wild ride. Next gig, be sure to check in and join up with the fanbase. That makes for even more fun. You'll find lots of kindred souls who are the best kind of folk to share the joy.

Re: Hello

Welcome to the forum Natasha!
Most of us have very similar stories...I first saw joe live, when a friend offered me a ticket 2 hours beforre show time. I had no idea who joe was. I have used the term "thunderstruck" because I left the small theater in a daze, not believing what I had just seen.
You fit right in with this forum.

Re: Hello

Thanks for the warm welcome. It's nice to know I'm not the only one with this crazy obsession. I know my teenage sons think I have become a little nutty about the whole Joe thing, yet I have definitely caught my younger son playing air guitar to his music. But then again, so have I smile.

Re: Hello

Speaking of air guitar inspiration, I submit: Black Country Communion - Live Over Europe - Song Of Yesterday (guitar solo)

Re: Hello

How ironic, I was just listening to a BCC concert that my husband downloaded. I enjoy Joe's songs with this group (he probably enjoys doing the heavy metal thing every now and then), but Glen Hughes just doesn't do it for me. Not a fan of his voice and he is a little too histrionic at times. (don't mean to offend anyone, just my personal opinion) I do enjoy Joe with Jason Bonham, "You and Me" is one of my favorite cds and I love "Tea for One". It almost seems sacrilegious to admit given my lifelong love of Zeppelin, but I think Joe did a better job with this song than Zeppelin did. Can you imagine if Joe played with Jimmy Page and both were playing double necks?! Wait, I better stop there, I'm a little to overcome with that image! smile

Re: Hello

Wait.......is this a new parlor game? I wanna play!

Ok.......Orianthi sandwiched between Nancy Wilson and Lita Ford!

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Love it that everyone has a great sense of humor.
