Topic: Ooop's guess I should do the Intro...

Well, I've mooched around here for a good few months a posted a couple of responses - nothing major but I guess I blew the etiquette thing and forgot to introduce myself

I've played guitar "full time" since '77 and been in bands for pretty much all of that time, some good, some bad and fortunately I've got the photographic evidence from my Hair Metal days safely salted away where they will never scare young impressionable minds again. The good bands nearly made it but, honestly, I'm glad they didn't - If they had I wouldn't have my family and they're worth more than anything.

Anyhow, there's too many guitars and too many amps gone by to mention but since I tried to become an undercover muso (I'm failing miserably) I've managed to hang on to the good stuff and haven't needed to horse trade so the collection continues to build. Highlights are my 73 Black Custom (with T-Tops) and my 02 Standard that you can see in my picture - the rest are workhorses but they're all my babies.

Musically, Joey Bones is in a longterm (winning) battle with Slash and Train in my iPod popularity stakes but Joe's where my iPod stays locked on and when I've caught him live he ranks with the best I've seen. Interesting point....way back in the 80's I recorded a broadcast session for the late great Tommy Vance's BBC Radio 1 "Friday Rock Show"; I believe we used the same studio space in the Maida Vale complex that Joe used for his Paul Jones sessions (I could be wrong but I'd like to think not).

Anyhow if you want to catch where I'm at musically you can check out my band at http://www.myspace.com/why-not-now and if you're interested the album's on iTunes. You can catch me on twitter as crave4crave and on facebook as crave4crave as well.

One last thing.....I've still got the Guitar Player mag from the late 80's where Joe got picked out as a 12 year old prodigy (nice hat in the picture btw) for a "Spotlight" column by Shrapnel Record's Mike Varney . This proves one thing............ nurtured talent always wins.

Anyhow, thanks for reading and I'll catch you around the forum.

Cheers

Welcome Crave1!  Don't worry about etiquette - we're all friends here and everyone is welcome.  I expect you've already checked out the gear page but there's lots of other stuff going on, so post away!
