Re: Goodnight Vienna-Acoustic Opera House Review

This some serious cool stuff. It'd be cool if Joe did a short acoustic portion, when he goes back to touring with the band. I saw Clapton in like 06 or 07 and halfway through the show he did some acoustic stuff like Driftin' and Running On Faith and a few others. Would love to see Joe do like 3 or 4 acoustic tunes in the middle of the set.

So pleased for everyone who went to the show.  Sounds like an amazing time was had by all and I can't wait to get somewhere where YouTube ain't blocked so I can marvel at Pete's vids.

These are such exciting times in Joe world!  DVD from the acoustic show, BCC CD, new CD with Beth in 2013, RAH again next March ...

Re: Goodnight Vienna-Acoustic Opera House Review

Great vids, thanks! Was soooo nice to see you all, Bonafriends! smile

The thunderstorm was marvelous, too! smile

Re: Goodnight Vienna-Acoustic Opera House Review

thanks for the video Pete.

The thing that strikes me watching it is that Joe really does have a great voice and can write great songs. - So 2 areas that he previously received criticism for by some people, and an acoustic show tackles those suppose-ed weak links flat bang square on and Joe comes out on top, in a BIG way.

Thanks Pete...the video of "Jockey" is amazing. When I first saw this on the setlist, it was the song that jumped out at me and the one I would have picked to see, if I could only see one song.
There's just something unique about it and Joe's acoustic version is stellar.

Re: Goodnight Vienna-Acoustic Opera House Review

What a great version of BOJH!  As I was watching it, I was thinking how this acoustic tour allows Joe to feature his voice prominently and what a voice it is!  Together with his acoustic and slide guitar skills and the spare accompaniment, it's an understated powerhouse performance.  So lovely to watch and listen to Joe perform at a totally different level.  He appears so comfortable in his skin and with what he is doing.

Thanks again, Pete, for getting a taste of Vienna up for us so quickly!  Are you sure you don't want to stay at that hotel another day or two to get those vids uploaded?! ;-)

Very excited about US acoustic tour ... only hope the US audiences are as quiet and respectful during the performances.

Totally agree. I can see why Joe likes to play in Europe. The audience in Montreux compared to the one in Pittsburgh were like night and day. I know one was acoustic and the other electric, but in Pittsburgh, every time there was a quiet section in a song, people would yell out some stupid comment. I hope he picks his venues wisely. An acoustic no amp show requires more respectful listeners.
