Topic: Which pedal to get?
I'm in the market for a new OD pedal. I've come down to two choices, Fulltone OCD and the Fulltone PlimSoul. They both sound amazing but I can't decide which one to get! Tell me what the pros and cons of both are please.

Whenever faced with these decisions I get both, return the other (make sure the place has a return policy); if you cannot return it, sell it on craigs... you may lose a few bucks but it really is the best way to decide. You have got to play it through your rig.
As macg1 says, it would really be best to try them both with your particular rig. Having said that, I preferred the PlimSoul for its versatility...
Sorry to throw a spanner in the works but have you tried a Fulltone Fulldrive 2? I would say that is a better pedal than the other two - some great versatility plus the boost switch. Otherwise (assuming you cannot buy both), I would go for the OCD which to my ears provides better clarity. Good luck with your choice.
Haven't tried the Plimsoul, but have had an OCD for years. I think it excels at pushing an amp set on the verge of dirt or already slightly dirty. I tend to use the HP (high presence) mode for it's tucked bass and more "Marshall-y" character. I also use it powered by 18 volts for the greater dynamic range. One of the best OD's I've tried (and I have lots).
Cheers,
Well they both can be operated at more than 9 volts, but I'd probably go with the PlimSoul. Seems a bit more versatile like Coach305 pointed out. I'd guess they both would react much the same to your amp since they are very similar pedals if you're not able to order both and send one back, thus having to settle on one. -S

I have the fulldrive II MOSFET, and I can't tell a difference between 18v and 9 v...
Sitting at home, I find you can hear a puss hair of a difference between 9 and 18 volts, ..playing with a band, not gonna hear anything. Regardless, the difference is so minimal nobody is gonna notice anyway.
If you were to consider the FD2 since it was brought up, I'd agree with Coolaxedude. I would hands down choose the FD2 above all.
I had the OCD for a while but sold it. I now use the fulldrive 2 all the time and it is a great pedal. I have tried the plimsoul and was very impressed but didn't have the funds at the time. I have included a link to a demo of the plimsoul where the guy also uses his fulldrive for a wee bit to give a comparison. I intend on getting a plimsoul at some point instead of the fulldrive with the intention of freeing up some space for an EP booster.
I often thought of getting rid of my FDII and getting a Way Huge Pork Loin...
Have you tried AnalogMan King of Tone? It's one of the best I've tried and have one in the mail as we speak! A long wait, but it's worth it. Check it out if you have done it already.
Keep rocking!

Been playing the OCD for 3 years now. The longer I play it, the less impressed I am :-(
To me this pedal sounds best with a Strat. All in all though this pedal sounds a little sterile.
The best OD pedal I came across in the past few months was the Tchula, made by Lovepedal.
All the OCD wants, but sounding way more organic and being way more LP friendly.
I have the les lius from lovepedal and that is one sweet sounding tweed in a box! It's my neil young pedal!
blackstar ht drive is brilliant

Hey Jimi,
Are you running your OCD into a clean amp or one already slightly breaking up?

I'm playing it in front of a clean non master amp.

I found that I much prefer my OCD pedal in front of an amp that is already breaking up a bit already. If running into a completely clean amp, rather rhan just relying on the pedal drive, I'll push the amp's preamp into breaking up with just clean level boost, then add a bit of drive to fill out the tone. You may have already tried this, but thought it worth mentioning just in case. ;-)

Nic, if you get rid of your FD2 you HAVE to send it back home to Texas!
