Re: Toulouse Acoustic

Wow! Slow Train never sounded better. Nothing makes a train song sound right like a fiddle or a blues harp. Can't wait for the Caveman's cleaned up versions of these songs. Joe's right on the border of Bluegrass here. Would love to hear Joe hook up with The Travelin' McCoury's, after Keller Williams is done with them. That would be awesome!

Re: Toulouse Acoustic

You got that right JDawg. I suspected there would be some strong Americana feel to the music. Look at the list of instruments he has in the group. All of them were brought over by immigrants and were the foundation of all that original music that led to the Blues. Joe is following those roots. This music is cool beyond belief.

Re: Toulouse Acoustic

Remember Joe's just-a-few-shows with Sam Bush?  First thing I thought of - although lots of electric in that.

Slow Train was amazing - I love steam trains and the fiddle is so eerie (makes up for how weird it sounded in Seagull).

Not so patiently waiting for Around the Bend and Mountain Time to show up.

I loved the violin in Seagull, it added to an already great cover, but one man gathers what another man spills.

Original arrangement!  Interesting way to revisit this song.  It works perfectly a la acoustic.

Gibson 60th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Reissue, Gibson LP Standard Faded CSB, Gibson Gary Moore LP Standard, Epi Joe Bonamassa GT LP, Epi Zakk Wylde LP, Dean Michael Schenker Flying V, Jackson Randy Rhoads V, ESP/LTD George Lynch Kamikaze, EVH Striped Series R/B/W, Fender/Squire John 5 Telecaster, Fender Joe Strummer Relic Telecaster

Americana indeed! I've heard a few "Old Time" bands around the City in the past. Old Time is a broader style than Bluegrass with it's roots in Appalachia and you'll see some of the most interesting instruments used in this genre.

OMFG! I floated right outta my chair on that one! HWE is awesome too. I hope Tex Lori saw the "proper" wine glass on the stand next to JB, this ain't no Red Solo Cup party! Each of these shows so far seem like a shakedown for when the cameras roll in Vienna, that should be over the top! Hope that Opera House has a sprinkler system!

Re: Toulouse Acoustic

Our minds here are well and truly blown away by what snippets we've heard. I played that loop over and over today via the surround well cranked. Joe is a genius!!! What further wonders await? The Bonametal clan waiting in Vienna will be well rewarded for this venture.
