Spread-time for Receipt of Flyers

My understanding is that about six weeks prior to an event, Street Team folk get the flyers for said event.  My event is on December 1, 2012, in Biloxi, Mississippi.  I calculate I would get the flyers in mid-October.  Am I correct ?  I am trying to coordinate my travel plans to get these flyers OUT to college students, e.g., before the winter break.  There are blues events in New Orleans in mid-November (as I recall), but . . am I correct?  Mid-October for the Biloxi, Mississippi, event? ? ?
