Topic: Joe's Les Paul circa 2005
Hey Joe,
What was the Les Paul you used during this period (Rockpalast etc.)?
Do you still have it?
What pickups did it have in it?

That's the one with the bigsby and black plastics. I believe that it's got 57 classics.

Not a goldtop... It's a flame top... With no ... Or a very mild burst.. He uses it on the 'Talks About The Gibson Les Paul' YouTube video... Hope that helps...

That's the guitar from the video I've posted. Now it's got black hardware and a bigsby. It's the one that's on the truck.
Its true. Back in 2008 I called it out on here and Joe said I was right. It's a 58' reissue with a really crazy top. He loved the top but thought the neck was too fat. Then he found a vintage bigsby and had his tech put it on the guitar because he quite using it. He said it brought new life to guitar that he was basically done with.
Meanwhile the neck is still too fat?!
Sorry mate, I saw the goldtop st the start and got confused... Thank you!!

And it's not even a goldtop!! Silly iPhone screen hahaha
Getting back to the original question, I'd love to know what pups were in that guitar. I always thought it was one of the best I've heard. It is the one on the truck. I'm pretty sure he used it when I saw him at Westbury NY.
Come on Joe, we need to know.

Had to go back a few years for that one. BTW I tried a Bigsby on my les paul and hated it. Never stayed in tune and it thinned the les paul out in a lack luster way. Sold it about 3 months later.
That has to be a 2001/2 '58 reissue, I'd put money on it.
Looks very much like mine before he applied the bigsby and black plastics.
01-02' R8's have great figured tops and absolutely enoromous big D shaped necks and I love 'em.
