I for one don't care for the white pickups..! Silly name too, wondering myself how that al came about.
I highly suspect that the double white pickups are PAFs
Owned by Charles Daughtry who is a professional photographer and Burst fan. I too am sure the pups are original PAFs with the covers off. CD is a significant contributor to the Les Paul Forum where Joe joined before he purchased his first '59: Magellan. Since then, Joe has gotten plugged into and met up with a lot of the great guys and Burst owners over there. They seem to like (and TRUST) Joe enough to actually lend him their incredible guitars. It's an amazing thing to have these great and historic Bursts get played live and recorded with Joe. I just never even imagined where the LPF connection with Joe would go.
It is now owned by Joe, and is his latest acquisition afaik.
It picked up the name 'Spot' due to the un-faded section of the burst at the bottom of the guitar. It is possible this area did not fade due to the shadow of the top carve blocking any sunlight, although that's a guess.
I'm sure Joe will at some point reveal some more details.
I think 'Sandy', one Tom Wittrock's bursts is still with Joe for the recording too...
I love the way all these bursts have names!
I really dig the double whites
When did this happen? Any links to the guitar?

I can say with 100 percent confidence that the pickups in question are NOT DiMarzio super distortions.. As my tech Mike told the guys from rig talk...( super nice cats by the way and run a totally wicked forum) when they asked us what the pickups are in 9-1688 aka Spot..." They came free with the guitar" They are PAF's and sound wicked.. Here was my first introduction to the guitar when it was on loan to Derek Trucks..

As far as addressing the rumor that I own it.. I have really generous friends that allow me to play wonderful guitars... Its a real honor , I am humbled and realize how lucky I am...

Yeah......Thought that was Angus Young until I turned up the volume...haha.
So it's true. Triplets weren't enough! Someone has Burst GAS really bad!
Wish I had cool, generous friends like that...! Only thing I ever got on loan was a crappy flanger pedal which I used to run my 2 small amps in stereo back when I was 12 or 13. Now that I think about it, I was doing the Bonamassa amp blending method back then and didn't even realize it?

BTW, love how they go into Hendrix around the 2:30 mark.
