Re: Why Joe show no love for SGs? :(

Recently about 2 years ago, I played one again and I don't wanna say I didn't like it but it had a different feel than I was used to. I then bought one a little later because lets face it, they're darn cool looking! I play it from time to time, and I do really like it for slide for some reason. Not much of a slide player AT ALL, though it still has a nice tone all around I think. I'd never sell it, but they definitely are different than a regular Les Paul which is good, otherwise there would be no point in even making the guitar. I don't really do any recording but I have the option of doing so and that is where you can really use it for its magic in achieving different tones. All in all, I like them and when I bring it out, people always comment on it despite the fact I might have 2 other beautiful Les Pauls and even a gorgeous PRS depending on my mood that night. They do turn heads from what I've noticed. -Seth

The Custom shop reissues SG's have those nice wide necks on them..... & I'm still a SG nut after 38 years....
Never played a custom shop anything, but I noticed the 61 reissue SGs have a slightly thinner neck. And my regular, run of the mill standard SG does seem to have a noticeably wide neck/fretboard, but thicker neck. Heck, I think I'm gonna take it out next gig!
