Topic: Playing a Theremin

I saw a band play saturday that used a Theremin, first time I have seen this. The band was "Get The Led Out", yes they play Led Zeppelin music. If you are Zep fan as I am, and they come your way, give them a look.

You need watch the movie The Song Remains The Same.

I want to say Jimmy Page was the first rock n' roller to use a theremin.

The first rock use of the therimin might be  Good Vibrations by the Beach Boys.


The was also a group in the mid '60's that featured a thremin, Lothar and the Hand People.  I believe the theremin was named Lothar.

I believe the instrument used in Good Vibrations was based on a theremin, but wasn't actually one.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.
