Topic: Hi from sunny (yes, really!) London!

Hi all,

I'm Ross and I've been a fan of Joe's for a couple of years now.  I've also managed to get my girlfriend, my parents and other friends to check out Joe's music and got to see him at the Birmingham NIA earlier this year.  I've also scored tickets for next year's gig at the RAH, to which I'm looking forward immensely.

I've been playing the guitar for around 20 years and gig around Essex/Herts here in the UK with the covers band "Halfbreed" - although we haven't been bold enough to cover any of Joe's tunes... Yet!

Cheers,

Ross.

Re: Hi from sunny (yes, really!) London!

Welcome aboard, Ross.  A very hardcore set of fans here, mostly.  So you'll find all kinds of interesting stuff.  Plenty of gearheads and players, too.  Joe pops in fairly often, too.  You never know where/when he'll contribute to a thread.

Stick around, you'll be glad you registered.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Re: Hi from sunny (yes, really!) London!

Since you're from London, I really need to know what team you support. roll

big_smile Just kidding Ross, you'd still be welcome even if you are one of 'them'. wink There's all sorts of interesting stuff in this forum besides all you want to know about Joe and his music, nose around, check it out, jump right in.

Re: Hi from sunny (yes, really!) London!

Hah! I don't really support any footie team, really - I can think of better things to do than watch 22 over-paid prima donnas chasing an inflated pigs bladder around a field ;-)  That said, if I had to pick a team, it's have to be the Hammers (I'm an Essex boy, really)!  Oh, and Southend United... and Canvey Island FC (Ryman League).

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome; I'm sure I'll be contributing to some threads in the weeks ahead - just need to find some time between tweaking my pedal board, rebuilding a couple of guitars, finishing a couple of pedals, band rehearsals, gigs, family and something called work!

Hello Ross. I'm originally from London but now live in Hastings, where it's very windy at present! Hope you enjoy the forum.
