Topic: EVM12L in a Thiele Cab??? Anyone here try one?

Hey,

I'm looking at putting an EVM12L in a 1x12 Thiele cabinet using the TL806 plans from Electrovoice. I've heard they sound huge. Has anyone here tried one? What's your opinion of them?

I like the idea of small footprint / big sound.

Youre basically talking about a vented or ported closed-back cabinet?

I have 2x12 EVM 12L Black Label speakers in my Forte 3D cabinet... which has vented sides.

I like it a lot, and I never play it without my plexi-shield and auralex pad. Floor doesn't shake with the pad, and ears don't bleed with the shield. cool
Thing is super heavy to carry though sad

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

Very cool cabinets! I can see it being heavy though...speakers alone are like 38lbs yikes

Yeah that's kind of what I'm looking at. Mesa Boogie makes a theile style cab adapted from the EV plans. I just haven't had a chance to play through one so I really don't know.
