A fitting outcome for Sheva after the interview I posted. He said he had been training hard and hoped his last capped games would be worthy. He'll go out as a national hero. Then on to our leagues for a final few paydays on his laurels.

I had completely forgotten to follow your link till after the game yesterday - thanks for posting, Rick! I hope he finds a nice club in the US for one or two more years and has a grand final payday. He's always been a favorite of mine, and in these days of overpaid and over-inflated cheating egos (Drogba? Balotelli?) it's wonderful to still see someone who is prepared to play the game right.

The world of football will collectively cross its fingers tonight that no nastiness occurs around or during the Poland-Russia game which, for known historical reasons, has the potential to explode. Russia are, of course, clear favorites.

The Polish equalizer was the goal of the tournament so far. Cracking game, fantastic atmosphere, many hundreds of cops at the end who were not on camera. Some arrests for fighting before the game, a draw should hopefully ensure that no great nastiness takes place afterwards.

Very enjoyable game George. At one point I thought the Russians were playing fantastically and fanatically well. Closing down all over the pitch. Poland just couldn't get going. Then, 'Koba' got that fantastic goal. What a strike. He won't hit one better. Suddenly the Poles were right back in it.

The Russians were eventually there own worst enemy by overcomplicating the final pass. Arshavin one of thamin culprits. Hope the poles get through though.

Great stuff.

I managed to watch the last half online. I agree on goal of the tournament. Perfectly struck! Russia seemed the better team but the Poles did what they needed to get the point.

Anyone who has read my previous views on the Dutch team will know that I wasn't in the least surprised by what took place. George the Kung-fu  Thing was just a joke based on what i have seen ^^?..  elbows ,punsh in the neck ,bodycheck ,you miss in some Eishockey games  wink  ...etc..etc.... but its just a game!!! .... i only wanted to make it a little funny to speak about ,what my eyes have seen   ...by the way at this evening i won 44 €euros smile 19€ Portugal -Dänemark 25€ Nederlands-Germany was a good evening .... big_smile
so far my last wish to know is : Hollands Coach sayed in the german news , he dosent want to talk about his Plan A ... and George i guess you are right he had no Plan B and i guess there never was a Plan A too....lol ..just kidding smile
