Outstanding show tonight at the Coach House. Ive probably seen them twenty times over 35+ years and they seem to get better every show. Roger Steen absolutely rocked tonight. I'll post a link to an audio of the concert once I get a chance to upload it.

White punks on dope! OMG I haven't heard (or thought about) The Tubes in a LONG time, didn't know they were still around.
Very much still around, particularly the last 3 years or so. With the obvious need to scale down the stage show the band has gotten tighter and Fee's voice stronger. Its the original band except Spooner whos no longer with them (and not replaced), and of course the great Vince Welnick, who is no longer with us, replaced by David Medd in '96.

No, not surprised (except the extra C in his name, lol), he co-wrote and played on Talk to Ya Later (though that is Lukather's only credited participation on the album). David Foster was brought in to produce CBP and brought the funk/R&B sound that rounded out their sound and repertoire and brought Lukather to the Tubes sessions, as he did with other members of Toto to help out Chicago.
Foster can certainly do some name dropping...including Bryan Adams, Tamia, Christina Aguilera, The Bee Gees, Andrea Bocelli, Boz Scaggs, Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Chicago, Destiny's Child, Neil Diamond, Céline Dion, Earth Wind and Fire, Gloria Estefan, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Chaka Khan, Beyonce Knowles, Kenny Loggins, Madonna, Olivia Newton-John, Nsync, All-4-One, Plus One, Charice Pempengco, Prince, LeAnn Rimes, Kenny Rogers, Barbra Streisand, Donna Summer, Shania Twain, Hall & Oates, Tim Feehan, and Jackie Evancho.
Speaking of Talk to Ya Later, TTYL/Third Stone from the Sun has been the final song/"medley" for a while now. Im going to try and synch up my iphone video and (hopefully better than iphone) audio from last night. It was reallllly good!

Was wonderin' if Spooner ever found his way back. Shame about Vince, it's a dangerous job playin' keyboards with the Dead.

Blimey,The Tubes...haven't heard from them in a long while.got vinyl from early/mid 80's-up to about TV is King single era,on 7inch coloured vinyl (2 different colours,i recall) all the hype about their UK visit,the exposed crotch area vis a vis Quay Lewd (?)....good live album from then,too...fell off my radar unfortunately...

London 7/22-23 and Scotland 7/25. Definitely worth checking out if you ever liked them. No crotch and Fee's a$$ is showing its age in Mondo Bondage lol.

First and only time I ever caught the band was on that tour (Newcastle City Hall). Great night - but still don't know what the h*** it was all about.

tsk tsk...it was all about not touching Re Styles "there", and all of the fallout from doing so.

They were like watching MTV, but live. Unfortunately, their production costs to put on their live performances was what brought about the temporary demise of the band.
