Topic: Joe, are you selling some of your guitars?

Hi Joe!

I just got the Driving Towards the Daylight Digibook, man that thing is so beautifully done! So in the end its says that you are going to sell a lot of you guitars and gear to fund the purchase of the third burst. I was wondering if you have already begun? How are you going to do this? Personally, Auction, Guitar Shop?

I've been playing almost 20 years now. Last year I bought a few guitars I always wanted in my collection including a 2008 Standard AA flame and now a 2012 Standard AAA Flame both Ice Tea. I'm GAS'n for an Ice Tea Reissue. I'm not even sure if you have one in Ice, but I'd be nice to even dream of buying one from you.

Anyways, I'm sure the fans would be quite curious to hear any details concerning the sale of your gear. One last note I'd like to mention is that you inspired me to take guitar lessons. I started a month ago. My teacher asked, "What do you want to learn?" I said, "Joe Bonmassa!" and off to the blues scale we went and he's teaching me drills, scales and melodies.

Thanks for the inspiration! Can't wait to see you and your bursts and other great guitars in the Fall!

I think it's been done already.  Joe has posted about selling around 100 guitars from his collection recently.

It was all done fairly quietly too - no loud, brash public auctions etc., which is good and bad for some of us.  It would have been nice if fans could have had 'first dibs' on some of his gear, but in the end, I think it was important to him to have them be sold to players via proper guitar shops etc.  He's obviously got some good, discreet middle man dealers working for him, because I expected a flurry of eBay auctions touting Joe gear, but there wasn't a peep! smile

Wow Jane! Knock me over with a feather. I never figured a hard core rocker like you would get a slide guitar. Nice acquisition!
We want to hear a bit of The River when you have your lessons going. big_smile

Thats pretty cool!  Down by the River was the flag ship song that got me into Joe Bonamassa!  I've tried one of those guitars out they are really cool sounding.  I'm super happy for you and I'm glad your not going to let it sit!  Best of luck with the lessons.
