Guido, sorry I asked where you were fishin' and diverted your topic about the splendors of the high Sierras. Being Memorial weekend I got to thinkin' about how many I've spent in the Sierras, Pine Mtn. Lake/Yosemite, Graegle, Lake Tahoe, Nevada City, & Pinecrest/Twain Harte. Chance of rain & snow tomorrow @ certain elevations, think I'll wait till things warm a little more.

Oh ...my God   Creepy Guy.....by The Way i was  grown up near a Slougterhouse and was friend with the two sons of a worker so i have Seen much killing but always and still hate it .....cant help

Re: Why I live where I do!

Geko - I respect your convictions ( as I'm sure the others do as well). I would just expect the same in return.

Obviously this thread has de-railed somewhat as my intention was to show other Bonabuddies who have not had the experience what the Sierras are all about and why I love living where I do. I've benn fortunate in being able to travel quite a bit and have never found somewhere I'd rather live. My fishing buddy of 35 years and I have had this discussion many times while driving to some destination or other.

So if any of you get the opportunity, don't hesitate to take a drive and get yourselves lost in my beautiful Sierras! Again, it's all about the journey.

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Wow...what is this nonsense?  This is a thread about the pride of one's area and the love of fishing.  I like reading about this stuff.  What I don't like is an idiot with an agenda coming here.

Because, if I didn't live here, I'd be living somewhere else? wink

OK, that's got to be the winning answer, right? Tell me what I've won? smile

Yeah, I'm into eating tasty animals as well. Maybe it should be "why I do what I do where I live". I can see releasing trout because you can pretty much catch one after the other, they aren't too picky I'm told.

Interesting. I've caught lots of bass in an outing before, but try to figure out exactly what the trout are feeding on at that particular time and then try to match it with one out of hundreds of choices of flies. Picky doesn't begin to describe some of the days I've had. Truculent would be a good description as well. I've also had the same kind of days fishing for bass as well. They are a real blast on a fly rod!

And Geko......talk about superior beings.......try matching wits with an animal with a brain the size of a pea! Who's superior now?

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Glad you like the A Roy.  Another fine job by our favorite taxi driver.

Don't know what crawled up your backside but you need to step back and respect other opinions. Not every side of the world is the same. I expect much better here.

Re: Why I live where I do!

Spider,
I normally agree with everything you say, but can't on this one.  Guido started a great thread here that comforts me in a very, very dark time in my life.  Call it a ray of sunshine.  There's no difference of opinion here.  What we've got here is an agenda that doesn't belong here.  I suppose if I'm perceived as intolerant than I no longer belong here either.  Goodbye all, it was a good ride these past years.

I also extend the same invitation. I may not be able to help, but I'll listen.
