Topic: Lehle little dual vs Category 5 dual switcher
Hi all
Well I have had both the Lehle little dual and the Category 5 dual amp switcher for sometime but in different rigs. So there was another post concerning amp switchers I responded to the made me to do a side by side comparison on the Lehle little dual and the Category 5 dual amp switcher.
Well here is what things appear to my ears:
They are both great units BUT>>>>
After extensive testing of both switchers using my Carol Ann OD3 and my Category 5 JB Jubliee heads for output A and B the winner is Category five. For me the reason is that category five appears to be completely noiseless. The Lehle before I did a side by side test I would consider completely noiseless until I did this side by side test. Category five wins.
Now the most important thing I noticed is the tone from the Category 5 switcher is, again by my ears,....holy crap ...amazing. It seems to do something very pleasing when mixing both amps, not only in tone but in feel. Well needless to say the Category 5 amp switcher is staying in my studio rig. I will need to get another. Man I have a severe case of G.A.S.
Cheers Ron
