Hmmm. Also an insight to the behind the scenes deals that make the fees add up. A project for street teamers?

Re: Ticketmaster, One Band Fights Back

I wish that this was the beginning of the end for Ticketmaster…hate there outrageous "convenience fees" and despise the way that scalpers are allowed to make it virtually impossible to find a good ticket at face value.

Ticketmaster ? more like Ticketshafter

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

Personally, I prefer Ticketbastard...although this will likely get edited, lol.

Re: Ticketmaster, One Band Fights Back

There is a very interesting book about this whole business called Ticket Masters by Dean Budnick.  I think it recently came out in paperback.  I read it a couple of months ago and it is an eye-opener, and for sure there are a lot more hands in the cookie jar for those fees than ticket master.  It takes a while to get thru, but worth it.

edit:  I am not sticking up for these guys - I detest their fees as well, and kudos to String Cheese Incident for trying again all these years later.

Thank you for the interesting article.

It's nice to see a band showing some appreciation for their fans and doing something creative to try to improve the system.

One of the biggest things that I have against Ticket Master, other than the inflated fees, is the lack of service they provide for those fees.  They want you to go with the first selection they pick for you and those are a number of times not the best seats.

I prefer purchasing tickets at the venue, the staff are more helpful, and will show you different options of seating in the same price range at one time and give you tips about the venue.  Like blind spots. You just get better service and seats for a lot less price.
