Topic: Nashville show...thank you Joe

What a FNTASTIC show.  Of all the shows we've been to, this one had to be the best.  Before I praise on Joe, I'll say that we were treated to two very special surprises.  Greg Martin of the Keyntucky Headhunters and Brad Whitford of Aerosmith  each played with Joe, and what a treat!  But the reat highlight of the night was Joe.  Just an amazing performance.....and the interplay between he and Tal just keeps getting better.  When I first saw Joe playing "Woke Up Dreaming" on tv at RAH, I was awed.  Tonight, Joe was even better......and frankly, I have never been to a better show.....by anyone.  There were so many standing ovations.....so I'm sure the others in attendance were equally appreciative.  So thank you Joe....it looks like this is going to be a big year for you...and you'll deserve everything that comeS from it.

thanks for the report, I felt he would have a guest but two is even better. I was hoping Vince Gill would show up. Tell us about the sound, how was it from different vantage points? There have been issues in other venues and I would like to confirm my suspicion that the sound was excellent.

I really do think everything about the show was great.....the sound, the arrangements, and the showmanship.....this was our 9th show in 2 1/2 yrs and was the best.  He did throw a surprise in playing his LP instead of the flying v for just got paid

Glad to hear you had a great experience!  The Indy show last week was our sixth but the sound was a mess, especially on Just Got Paid.  Don't know if it was the venue, whoever was mixing that night, or a combo of both.  Joe and the band played their hearts out though and probably had no idea.   Looking forward to a seventh one of these days!

It is apparant that sound is very location critical in venues. My experience has been that down front center is the best when you get the feed straight off the stage without the PA. It is hella loud but very clear. Up in the rafters and off to the sides seems where it is less than optimal. I had right orchestra row 10 recently and Carmine's bass was very strong on that side, overpowering the keys from Rick on the left to the point they were mostly inaudible. The older halls that were built before large amplification and relying on natural acoustics seem to suffer most IMO.

Last year at the Embassy in Fort Wayne we were row G almost direct center for Joe's show and in Greenville, SC the year before, row F direct center and the sound in both were fantastic from beginning to end.  At the Indy show last Saturday we were row B, to the right of center, about 4 seats from the aisle.  We had friends setting center of row M and they said the sound had its moments also.  I would agree that the venue can be a royal pain, but I don't believe the venue was the entire issue on the last song.  There's clean well mixed loud and the distorted loud that this was.  First time in Joe's concerts and also since the rock shows of the 70's that I went away with ears ringing for 2 days.  I think for future concerts I won't worry about getting front row seats and just go for seats in the center about 10 rows back.

First Joe B show, first time in the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. My wife bought us tickets for our anniversary, and we drove 5 hours to see the show.

Well worth the trip. The technical artistry was amazing; the interplay between Joe and Tal was amusing; and my wife (a die-hard New Age and Classical fan) actually loved the show!

As for sound quality .. well, I was moderately disappointed. We sat in the Tier, a couple of rows from the back. There were times when Joe's voice was muddied (usually when there was a lot going on), and there was one particularly annoying resonance with one particular pitch - at the high end of the register of Joe's guitar. I am not a guitarist, but it sounded to me like there was a flat spot in the mix. I also wondered if it was the stack to my right (Joe's left) as there was a stage guy who came out a couple of times and looked at it/listened to it as though there was something wrong.

Did I mention it was an amazing show?

Still, an amazing show. So good, in fact, that when my wife found out (a few minutes ago) that he was coming to Columbus GA, she bought tickets for us (and our son) to sit center orchestra for the November show. Yeah, check the time stamp - less than 24 hours after the Nashville show, my wife bought me tickets for the November show. Do I have an amazing woman, or what?

I had this under "General", but it was so amazing to see how Great Joe dealt with so many people...so, I think it warrants repeating here..:At the show now following the meet and greet.   Can only say....Joe,as much a fan as I was before, you outdid yourself...78 people in line, so many autographs and pics...and so kind, gracious, and patient.  You were just as patient with my wife and I at this m&g as you have been with those that have only 20 people....and he took extra time and attention allowing me to transfer out of the wheelchair so I could stand by him for pics.  Thank you Joe, for being the amazing guitarist, singer, and performer you are...and more importantly, the person you are.

Just got home last night from Nashville.  We drove there from Cocoa Beach, FL to see Joe and made a mini vacation out of it.
Joe was the Highlight of the trip.  This was my 4th Joe concert and we have tix to see him down here in Dec.  Can't wait.
What an incredible talent and an overall great guy.

Saw Joe in Nashville, where we live!!  It was our first show and it was awesome!!!  He was so nice to meet us after the show and sign autos and get pics!!  A classy guy...so polite and humble...just love him!!!
