Topic: ONE OF THESE DAYS

Just heard 'One of these days' from the new album last night - absolutely stunning. It was on Bob Harris's late night BBC Radio 2 show - heres a link:

This is played early in the show, just after Paul Kossof.

Was this a Ten Years After Song?

Re: ONE OF THESE DAYS

Thanks a lot for the link!  Great song, nice slide work too.  Yes it was originally done by Ten Years After.  Looks like Joe is going to play in the studio on Aug. 4 live as well.

Music is good for the Soul...

Re: ONE OF THESE DAYS

Thanks trdb! Can't wait to hear Joe's in-studio performance.

I think Bob Harris and Paul Jones do a fabulous job with their radio shows. I'm sure they are a big reason why Joe is so popular in the UK. It's too bad Joe doesn't get that same radio exposure over here in the states.

BTW, "One Of These Days" is played at about the 18:20 mark, about 20 min. into the show. If you click on the link and hit the 15 min. fast forward you'll get there faster and you'll also here Paul Kossoff's "The Stealer" right before Joe. You can really hear how Joe calls Kossoff one of his influences.

Good point about the radio exposure here at home. Please see my post regarding this issue, Let's help Joe in SF.

Re: ONE OF THESE DAYS

Wow. I quite like this song before JB's. Very tasty.

Has anybody here heard Gwyn Ashton and/or Julian Sas? They're two red hot ones to be on the lookout for.

I've just ordered Gwyn Ashton's album at the same time as I pre-ordered Sloe Gin.

Re: ONE OF THESE DAYS

Sounds absolutely great! Thanks for the link, glad i pre-ordered Sloe Gin! smile

Re: ONE OF THESE DAYS

Just had a chance to listen to that thread. Awesome version of that song. Hardly the same as what I heard live in San Luis Obispo in May. I guess that's the difference between studio and live, love 'em both. Man! that plug for Joe's tour is what he needs stateside. PLEASE!!! check out Help Joe in SF and e-mail these guys ASAP.

Re: ONE OF THESE DAYS

Haven't heard the entire version yet (technical difficulties listening to the radio show) but from the 30 second clip, I think One Of These Days is another good marching song...just hearing it makes me want to march...you hear that, Patty?? smile
