I'm a big fan of both Joe and EJ, and I know it's not right to judge gear based on youtube clips, but I like the sound of Joe's more. Definitely wouldn't swap the Bonafuzz out for EJ's.

Don't remember his name, but it was "revealed" some time ago. Think he was some semi-prof., not very famous musician...

He lives in Kentucky and works at the Imporium. Its a local guitar store that I think he ownes, which explains why he has all the access to all the different pedals and things. He had a video on Youtube where he appeared as himself talking about the bottom of the vintage guitar market falling out. Strange guy, but I love him.

And think Eric johnson turned his nose up to the copper top pedal to begin with. Dunlop gave it to Joe and he loved it. Just goes to show you even Eric Johnson has tastes that don't match up to others. Not saying one was better then the other but I definately can say I liked the jb pedal better.

The JB definitely sounded better in that video to my ears, I think if you were trying to nail exactly the EJ fuzz sound and get the best out of it, dime-ing it didn't really work IMO, the amp had just a bit too much gain vs Eric's rhythm Marshall and Eric never dimes the fuzz control (he rolls it back to about the tear drop but never on full) and the volume on his is always at unity, it sounded like it was just over loading the signal way too much at times but a cool demo none the less.

That's a good point. If the fuzz was rolled off to a little before the teardrop, the tones would probably be more similar. All I know is that I love the Bonafuzz. Joe and George did a great job.
