Re: Virgil and the Accelerators

The lads will be wiping the sweat off their gear, catching a breath after a hot tour with Wilko and will no doubt be back rehearsing for some full shows for the summer.

Schedule so far looks like this:-

May 5th - The Station, Swinton, S.Yorks
May 6th - Burnley Blues Festival
May 10th - Roadhouse, Birmingham
May 11th - Alresford Hall, Ropley
May 12th - Mainsforth Community Centre, Co. Durham
May 18th - Limelight, Aylsebury
June 9th - 76 Club, Burton
June 15th - Middle Of Nowhere Festival, Rugeley
June 22nd - Village Hall, Kings Sombourne
June 29th - Flowerpot, Derby
July 17th - Abertillary Blues Festival
July 22nd - Upton Blues Festival
+ more dates for August.

Why's Mainsforth highlighted? Scene of favourite VATA show, to date. Little used hall with a big sound. (Just don't forget to pack the heater in the bus Martin, you know how cold the dressing rooms are.....)

Re: Virgil and the Accelerators

Hi BansheeUk,
Just to let you know that VATA are at Abertillery blues festival on friday 13th of July. This is my local blues festival.

Re: Virgil and the Accelerators

I know this has been mentioned before but surely someone can swing some Scottish dates?

Duely highlighted - I know last year the lads were eager to get some dates back in Wales.

Kenny - I know the frustration, but I don't want the "rumble" to kick-off again as elsewhere. I know the lads want to get up there, past Kinross and the likes, and Martin is trying his damnedest to make it happen but maybe it's up to punters to pressure the promoters.....

Yeah you are right Mike, I will speak to a guy up here. There would be an audience - Stray played 5 Tayside gigs last weekend and Maggie Ross from your area is about to do the same in 10 days time.

Re: Virgil and the Accelerators

Hi Walter,

a warm welcome here at the forum.
I stood next to you during that gig :-)
What about you, also still dreaming from the Bluesmoosefest?

Greets from Germany, Eva

Re: Virgil and the Accelerators

Hi Walter,
Thanks for sharing the clips. I've followed the band for the last 2 years, and that must be one of the smallest stages I've seen them on, but it doesn't look to be a problem for them.

I'm seeing them next on May 12th at Mainsforth, nr Durham (UK). It's a big stage in a big room - they played there back in November and nearly blew the place apart. I'm looking forward for a repeat.

Think they are looking forward to a return trip into Europe later in the year.

Re: Virgil and the Accelerators

Thanks Eva and Mike for the warm welcome.
Yes Eva i remember you,saw you last sunday again. It's always good to see you.Because it means that when we see us there is always good music.Yes Bluesmoose Fest was great.I loved all the bands.Just Hokie Joint is not my thing.Ryan was great again, and also Henrik,Ben and Eric were very good.So i had a great day.I hope that you also had a great day at Groesbeek.
ps Thanks for thinking on me about the posters.
Indeed Mike it was a very small venue. In fact it's a cafe. And there are not much people. It was their first gig in the Netherlands.
Fun was that they did after the gig an afterjam there. It was lot of fun.Asked Eva.

Re: Virgil and the Accelerators

Wonder how a jam between Virgil and Ryan would sound? That would be something to think about...
