Can't believe Dire Strait's "Alchemy" hasn't been mentioned yet...

Just about anything by Neon Park, but perhaps most of all the covers of Dixie Chicken and Sailin' Shoes.
Good call G Dawg. I like bands that used the same artist for most of their artwork.

Don't know about album covers, but one of the coolest albums I own is Split Enz's 'True Colours' in which the vinyl record itself was laser etched... Still played normally, but was freaky to look at spinning on the turntable...

Captain Beyond - I mention this, as i've now obtained another copy.
Released in 72, One of the best debut albums, imoIf you put Capt. Beyond on a horse in some armor with a battle axe, bingo! you'd have a Molly Hatchet album cover.
Gator Country,
J Dawg
Yep, i can see it!
Wish You Were Here - Floyd.
No CGI...just a perfect setup of a shot.
Something very timeless and open about it.
Devan,
I always considered this the coolest vinyl cover ever, although I heard DJ's didn't care for it back in the day since you couldn't tell where one song started and ended. Dave Mason's - Alone Together (marbelized vinyl)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DAVE-MASON-ALON … 778wt_1398
As far as other album covers I always liked the Beatles Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band and Cat Stevens Tea for the Tillerman & Teaser & the Firecat

$9.50!!!! Looks like I won't be parting with my copy any time soon. BTW, that's one helluva classic rock album too!

Depends on their condition. I had a few collectible albums & 45's, but I had a bad habit of putting my name or initials on them which makes them worth about what I paid for them. Usually those top end prices mean still in the plastic wrapper.

Whoa Angela...that marbelised vinyl IS pretty cool !! I can understand the DJ's dilemma too!

Id put HR Giger's Brain Salad Surgery cover at the top of my list. It captured the essence of the album, and introduced us to Giger's art. The next time I noticed him was, of course, "Alien", one of the most disturbing sci-fi/space movies Ive ever seen.

Of course possibly the most iconic cover art of all time (and my only tattoo) is Dark Side of the Moon's prism. I can kill lots of time listening to music and paging through Hipgnosis' and Storm Thorgerson sites.
The new Slash album - http://slashonline.com/ pretty cool i think.
In the same direction... Vai's Passion and Warfare: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images … mp;s=music

Good call kestrou - absolutely! Maybe my eyes, but the pic looks as if it's been taken in 3D. BTW, Passion and Warfare was my introduction to Vai and his music.
