Topic: Joe's description of the Epiphone JB sig.

I just noticed while scrolling through Joe vids on youtube that people had been giving him a hard time about saying the JB Epiphone is 'for kids', the statement was clearly depicting the incentive to build the guitar and nothing to do with the quality. I own a JB Epi and the guitar is - and will be for a long time - indispensable to me.... To me the guitar is par with a Gibson Les Paul standard (it totally trounces my Dad's SG Special!!), it's probably all in the pick ups!!

But I love these guitars and I'm proud that Joe can reach so many people of different walks of life with his music and his instruments!!

Rock on, no matter what brand is on your headstock!!

I interpreted Joe's comment to mean young players without a lot of money to spend.  As a strictly amateur/hobbyist player, the Epi suits me just fine, too; I'm just not good enough to need a top-shelf Lester.  And, frankly, I think Joe's Epi is a cut above the usual Epiphones anyway.  Playing my humble Epi always puts a smile on my face, and that's enough for me...   big_smile

That's it, he never said that the older generation won't enjoy them, they are great guitars for everyone!!

It's great to have 3 models for 3 different price points.  Custom, Studio, Epi.  Something for everyone.

Feedback that I've seen on other guitar forums is that people are mighty taken aback that the Epi JBLP has top shelf pickups and hardware.  They are really quite incredibly good value for money - and that is coming from someone who has the Custom Shop LP...

I love mine also and I am certainly no spring chicken. Mine brings a smile to my face, it is a class instrument well finished and well put together. It also sounds beautiful despite me being on the other end of it. I doubt I could tell much if any difference with the studio other than binding.

I liked my JB Epi so much I installed my JB Seymours in it and what a game changer.

I think all Epiphone Les Pauls are awesome - except the LP100.

Myself I own a Custom, Standard and Studio. None of them are JBLPs but the quality is astounding. The oldest I have is my 2004 Studio. That's starting to suffer a bit of wear and tear from 5 years of brutal playing but nothing a bit of polish and a clean out inside won't fix. As for the Custom I've just bought, that's used, needs a fair bit of polish to clean the muck off those pickup covers but it feels and sounds awesome. Same for my Standard.

If you've played Gibson 2008 and 10 and 12 LP Standards, compare them to Epiphones (same models) and then try and tell me what's nicer to play?!

I'll take a Gibson any day....besides, the Epi head stocks are hideous......
