Dear God, how did I miss this? sad

Thanks to Marco for putting it up and thanks for posting the link, Eva. I'll listen to it tomorrow. I just popped in here to post the link to her first music video in 14 years, also on Marco's site.

Re: Bonnie Raitt (again)

Bonnie posted today on FB that her new release is Billboard #1!!!

Major Tom to ground control...

Re: Bonnie Raitt (again)

Heard her cover of Right Down The Line on the radio yesterday and enjoyed her treatment with a bit of a reggae beat. In fact I sat in the car till it ended even though I was already home.

Dawg,

iTunes is making RDtL a free download.  The new album sounds very good and Bonnie's never sounded better.

Re: Bonnie Raitt (again)

I saw Bonnie at the Academy of Music in Philly on June 16th. It was the night before Father's Day, Bonnie shared a few really sweet stories about her talented Dad.  I was last at this spectacular venue to see Joe in November! Bonnie commented on the beauty of the venue and being in attendance to see the Band back in the 70's. The redhead was on fire and delivered an awesome show!! Bonnie made a fantastic addition to her regular band, Mike Finnigan on keyboards; he especially shined playing the blues. (Mike has played for Joe Cocker, CSN, Etta James & Jimi Hendrix)

Thumbs up to the opening act Mavis Staples. Mavis performed a beautiful tribute to Levon Helm with a rendition of The Weight. Mavis and her band were superb!

Back to Bonnie.  I delivered a pre-paid StringsforaCURE envelope to one of her stage crew. If any Joe fans participate on Bonnie's facebook, etc., talk up Bonnie donating her used strings.  SFAC would LOVE to have the goddess of slide guitar on board. Thanks. smile

Re: Bonnie Raitt (again)

Rats!  Missed Bonnie's performance on Leno.  What song did she do, "Right Down the Line"?  So nice to have her back to recording and performing again.

Slipstream is seriously good stuff.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Re: Bonnie Raitt (again)

Bonnie played right at the very end of the show, Take My Love With You from Slipstream, there was no interview.  I looked around on Leno's site, but didn't see any clips for her. However, you may be able to view the whole show here until Oct. 7th. (maybe you can skip to the end of the full episode)

Also, Bonnie has been on NPR recently.  http://www.npr.org/search/index.php?sea … nnie+raitt

Re: Bonnie Raitt (again)

After reading comments on this thread and randomly watching Bonnie Raitt'a videos.
Oh man, she makes me really want to learn how to play slide guitar. Shame that I don't know anybody who can plays slide or is capable to teach me around here.
Adore her!
