Wow... Joe's really getting a lot of exposure through magazines lately- great stuff!!
He sure is getting some exposure in the Guitar orientated mags, now if rags like RollingStone would just take notice ? Problem with the Guitar mags is ,the vast majority of these readers probably allready know Joe. Well time to E-mail RS again ! JBrules

Well, after we bombard "amazon" with our orders, then them "Rolling Stoners" will have to take notice. I still cant believe he wasnt on there top 10 of young axe players, what was that about 6 months ago, when that issue came out?
I posted this some time back when the mag first came out. I'd asked Mick Taylor (editor) if he'd do a piece on Joe when he was editor at Guitar Buyer magazine and he said 'yes' but he then took the position of editor at Guitarist .....and I'd like to think that he remembered my request and snuck it in at his 'new' magazine.

I say sweet, I hope its true, great job! You got any more goodies up your sleeve?
Hey Shred, It was that Rolling Stone w/o Joe that lead to my first forum post. They also got a few e-mails from me. But.... I'm glad for all the professional press because those readers are the ones I want to go to shows with! gsi...I'm sure your friendly "push" had something to do with it. You Brits do a great job spreading the word... Cathy
Joe's PR over here asked if I could help with another mag some time back and they agreed to do an article. If memory serves me correctly, which is unlikely now that the years pass way too quckly , it was Guitar Techniques. I'm not sure if it's happened yet.

Shred those "Rolling Stoners" could use a little gathering of peat moss so they could grow a pair and become something they have not been for far too long-Relevent...the articles are better than Playboy, Penthouse, & Hustler sometimes though...anyway to wit: IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!

This was a pretty cool interview, especially with Joe busting Scott's balls to outdo him (Joe, that is, or to quote, hopefully reasonably accurately..."go out and kick my **** every night, that's your job..."), but did I read it right? Did Joe mention the first time he saw Free?! I speed read that with an implication of it being at a concert, and it's been bugging me ever since (I always have a high tonnage of tuneage info going through my eyepods always, so....was there some kind of regrouping that I never knew, or did anyone else think he might have meant Bad Company? I can get so confused sometimes with my terrible short term memory...)

P.S. There's no way Joe saw Paul Kossoff, so maybe he just meant "heard" them (and that's what I actually read & just screwed up)?!
Gsj-any update yet?

gsj- VERY NICE effort on your part. I think a round of applause is in order! It makes perfect sense that the UK would embrace Joe, with his British influences etc. I thought the Guitarist article "Blues Brothers" was excellent and I need to check Scott McKeon out!! Actually, the entire issue was good...enjoyed reading about Chet Atkins, which of course reminds me of George. Also, the Shepherd's Bush looks like a wonderful venue with such a nostalgic aura of fine musicians! Do you know what year the venue was built and how many people does it hold?

Hi NPB-There was conversation on here before about RS not being what it used to be HOWEVER For All The Young Dudes (and dudettes on here) the current issue celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Rolling Stone is quite good featuring its first year, 1967. (John Lennon was on the cover of the 1st issue of RS.) It's 2nd in a 3 part series celebrating the 40th, the 1st in the series from May was also good.
... Rolling Stone
Jess- Thank you for those links to Scott, I'll check them out!
Angela, it's a smelly horrible venue in a nasty part of town...full of drunks....or maybe I'm just getting old. Mind that toe!!!
