Re: M.S.

Hi Andy,
I only know one person who has MS. Like you probably already know, there is a wide range of how it affects people differently. This woman got an early diagnosis in her 40's and her symptoms have not progressed, she gets injections regularly. She also has turned into an exercise freak and became a competitive body builder.

Autoimmune diseases have a mind of their own and are not always predictable. I was diagnosed with a very rare (1 in a million) autoimmune disease back in 1997. I went on massive steroids to surpress my immune system, it was up and down for a bit, but it finally went into remission. Besides the standard medical treatment, I tried to think outside the box and dig deep into alternative medicine and read everything I could that could supplement the standard regimen.

I just pulled up this article, research is so important. This is from 2009, I wonder if there is any new news on it.

Re: M.S.

Interesting article Angela. Thank you.

My half sister and a close friend both have MS. I've seen the changes in them. And me. I just take it day by day. Good days and bad days. I fully understand what Janes husband's friend went through. It's very hard to admit to yourself you no longer can do the things you enjoyed doing. Or having to hire someone to come do something you should be able to do yourself. Harder even still is to have to sit there and watch them do it!! My wife now waits for the times I'm out of the house to get those home repairs done. smile So far I'm still able to drive. Motorcycle riding is about over with though. Keeping one's spirit up is the most difficult. Depression runs very high in sufferers of MS.

Music certainly helps.

Re: M.S.

My sincerest sympathys and best wishes to both you and your loved ones. I've never had to deal with anything of this magnitude before so I can't even pretend to imagine what this means to you. All I can say is best wishes again and please know that you have my support in whatever way you need it.

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Re: M.S.

Spider,

Very sorry to hear this news.  I will include you and your family in my prayers.

Re: M.S.

Positive attitude Andy. Medical breakthroughs are made every day. You could do worse than being a vet. Before he passed on, my dad got some of the best care at the VA hospital in Buffalo.

See ya in a couple of weeks for some Mo-Joe action.

Love ya brother!

Re: M.S.

Tom, you know I'm looking forward to it! Tell Jane and Jim I said hello please.

Canandaigua VA took excellent care of my adopted Dad the last years of his life. I've been fortunate to have had a great private doctor the past 23 years. Unfortunately he's retiring this summer. I have yet to meet his replacement. Maybe I'll meet him my next appointment? I have another doc lined up if I need to. I just don't want a lapse or difficulty in continuation of my medications. Time will tell.

Re: M.S.

Spider,
I haven't had anyone close to me diagnosed with the disease and honestly do not know a whole lot about it, thank you for raising my awareness. Please stay positive, educate yourself as Angela said think outside of the box. It's always good to have 2nd and 3rd or more opinions if you haven't already. I know there are websites that give advice on seeking muliple opinions from specialists and will you assist you in finding someone for your diagnosis in your geographic area. Re: M.S.

Spider,
The prayers are headed your way.  My sister has MS and she was diagnosed a little over ten years ago.  The trick she say is to get the right meds and never every forget to take them.  Another way she copes with her condition is exercise, weight training and cardio...you need to stay strong in the body and mind.

We got your back my brother, Semper Fi!

Nope. Spring is a long ways away.

Re: M.S.

Hey Andy....don't remember if I told you.....after the spinal puncture, they don't believe I have MS.  Off to Clev Clinic for more tests.  Neuro thinks it's just continued damage from my SCI.  I followed your move and just bought a used BASS as my hands too are...well, you know.  It'll be fun to try learning it.  Not sure if you have done this....working on laying as many tracks of guitar parts I can.....hoping when the time comes, I can still mix music together even though I can't play it.  I hope you find improvements......and can keep your music going.  Wishing you all the best.

That's usually the problem, as it's difficult to get a MS diagnosis. A MRI of my brain is what confirmed my docs suspicions. Enjoy your new bass. You'll have fun with it!

Stay positive my friend and Keep The Faith!!
