Which? Overdrive Boost, Fuzz Haze, or Stone Bender?
I have a Stone Bender.
I'm assuming he's talking about pickups.
I've never used throbaks.
I just got a really sweet set of Wolfetone "Skinner" Legends. About a month ago I saw a thread on another forum where someone had asked Wolfe to make him a set of Legends based on the Skinner Burst. With just getting the Bonamassa SD's I thought a set of Skinner humbuckers sounded pretty cool so I gave a shout to Wolfe and asked if he could make another set. They arrived the other day and I didn't waste time getting them installed in my 01-R8. The pickups are very clear, smooth, well balanced and articulate. Made with Alnico II magnets and they read out 7.46 on the neck and 7.99 at the bridge. Only one problem. My crappy playing doesn't do these justice.

Thats the resistance readings of the pickups .
I've tryed a ton of pickups, including Throbaks. To me the Throbaks are the best aftermarket.
BUT: I gave up on that quest and am staying with Gibson. Some people state new pickups
are the best thing you can buy to get better tone. I disagree.
Throbaks are great. As are Wolfetones, Bareknuckles, Lollars... what I did is find a small builder who did not charge outrageous prices and had good reviews. My vote goes to Sheptone, and I just ordered a second Tribute Set to go on my 79 Epiphone Genesis.

I've read nothing but good reviews about Sheptones. The only exception to that is long lead (wait) times. Hopefully you get yours before the year runs out. I'm sure they're worth the wait. I've seen some of his forum posts and he seems (to me anyway) to be a cantankerous mofo. He's certainly serious about his products! And that's good! As it should be.
I've a guitar out at Historic Makeovers at the moment and am having Thobak's (SLE-101 MXV) put into it in addition to the other work being done. It was between those, Lollars and the Wolfetones. We'll see if the Thobak's are all I'm hoping... I'll post when i know for sure. So hard to know how a set of Pups will react to a particular guitar.
I've tried Lollar and WCR fisrt hand in one of my LP's. Lollars (Standard Imperials) were very airy and balanced in a humbucker way and sounded great. WCR's (Godwood, Joe wind) lively and very thick also sounded great but very different feeling pickup from the Lollars.
My #1 LP is all stock and has Burstbucker #1 and #2, love the way these sound

Yeah it will take a few weeks. If there is an emergency he can expedite things; I had some recoding sessions a couple of years ago and he got me the PUP's a couple of weeks ahead of schedule. This time I can be patient and will not abuse his good will. I know in the end it will be great. Shep is very serious about his product, but has been nothing but helpful, professional, and prompt with replies. Yeah the long wait time must be from his small operation.
