Anybody think this is a good amp? There is one here on craigs list for $750. Is this a good deal?

On second thought I've read some pretty bad stuff about this amp.

Rebels and Tweakers get rave reviews. I've never heard of the TOL's.

I have a tweaker, love it. Thats the only experience I have with an eggbeater but I like the sound of the amp in the video you posted. Sounded fine to me. $750 is a lot though, I'd probably go with a DSL for that money.

Hi Seth, which tweaker do you have? I wasn't aware of these amps before, so I checked out some vids out,for the money, they sound like great amps. "eggbeater", that's funny.

Its that whole Rocktron thing that scares me a little. I asked the guy if I could try it out but he said he didn't want to tell me where he lived... No way I'm buying something like that without even hearing it works or not. He promises its in fine working order and have nothing to worry about.

I've got an Egnater Renegade head and a Tourmaster cab and I love it. No experience with the TOL's, unfortunately, so I'm unfamiliar with those. But I would feel weary as well. IMO, a Renegade, Rebel, or any of the Tweakers can be had for $750 or less and none carry the Rocktron name, lol. I'm partial to the Renegade and Rebel, of course...

Hey, I bought an Egnater Tweaker 15 head when they first came out. Simply HAD to have one, love it! I've gigged it many many times and it performs superbly. You can get a lot of sounds from it as well. I've always played it through a 2x12. Only issue I had with it is it dropped volume when I put my MXR Carbon Copy in the loop..apparently I'm not the only one who had this problem as I read up about it afterward. Otherwise any other pedal works fine with it. Changed out the tubes last year to EL34s and they changed the tone slightly for the better in my opinion. Smoother gain sound and I swear I got a vaginal hair more volume out of it too. Yeah "eggbeater" good one huh?! -Seth
