Topic: New Guitar Day!

Picked an unlikely and rare bird on the cheap.  It is a 1980 Epiphone Genesis Standard.  These are kind of tough to find and generally go for really good prices.  I must say it is 100% equivalent to the same year Gibson LP standard I used to have and sold because I was not bonding with it.  It has factory coil tap that works nice, the long Epi headstock which I find sexy, and the input jack is on the face of the guitar which to me is a huge plus!

A lot of guitar for a bargain of a price!  I am going to look for a Dlx. version which has neck binding and block inlays!

Wow that sure is an impressive collection you've got there.  The Firebird is to die for!

Re: New Guitar Day!

Thanks ADTHREE, I actually have to update because a lot of that gear has sailed, including the white FBV, which was a 2002; it was replaced by a 1974 Greco Firebird, also white.  I will take pics soon.

dknight16, yeah those are lesser known models, designed by matsumoku and put together in Taiwan (quality is top notch).  Only made from 79-81, a bargain, and tone for days.  Highly recommended.  The sustain is to die for.  They are a bit heavy, this one comes in at about 10lbs.
