Topic: Old JB Fan, New Around Here

I've lurked in the forums for quite some time, and been a fan of Joe's for as long as he's been putting out music.

Figured I would finally join the fun.  Though I don't aspire to Bonametal status, I'm a dyed in the wool Bonamaniac, so I know I'm in good company.

I've converted quite a few to the fold, and cemented the fandom of more than a few "casual" JB fans.

Been to several of Joe's shows over the years, from the small venues to the large, mostly around the Chicago area.  My last one being the outstanding show at the Chicago Theater.  I know, "outstanding show" is basically a given when Joe and his band mates hit the stage, anywhere.

Watching and listening to Joe's artistic evolution has been an absolute pleasure.  Drooling over the upcoming release of his latest effort, DTTD.

Life has a tendency to get in the way of total fanaticism, so I'll likely be a fan of few posts, but I decided it was time to come out into the light of day.  wink

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Re: Old JB Fan, New Around Here

New members are always welcome, irrespective of the numbers of posts that they might wind up making. Since you're a long-time lurker you know what you  can expect around here. wink

Enjoy!

RIP Iron Man

Rock On and keep the Faith

Welcome also. There's nothing wrong with a bit of lurking now and again.

Re: Old JB Fan, New Around Here

Thanks.

BTW, like the linked version of Leonard Cohen's Bird on a Wire.  Truly good stuff.

I'm a blues fan first, but a good music fan always, and one of the neat things about Joe's hooking up with Kevin Shirley has been the choices of covers.  Not that Joe did too bad on that front, before YAM.  (I even know the album "shorthand", to Amsterhammer's point. wink )

I'll share one more bit of personal info, I'm closing in on 55 years young, so I've been around long enough to have first hand experience (and appreciation) of a lot of great bands / performers over the years.  Joe certainly ranks right up there, and the best thing is he's still got plenty of room (and desire) to grow.
