Topic: Kemper profiling amp

I have been following the kemper profiling amp with interest for a few months. The ability to profile multiple vintage and modern amps and take a profile of them with you must be great.
Plus kemper allow you to be able to share the profiles with other people. I am interested in what you guys think.
It seems like A/B tests of the real amp compared to the profile have been really good with people reporting that the profiles are almost indistinguishable.

I have to admit I'm really impressed. It really seemed to have great tone and accuracy when they used the profiled copies. The kemper has the ability to load profiles that other people have created.. Im quite sure there is a big market out there for people who are never going to be able to afford lots of vintage and boutique amps that this will appeal to.

Yep, imagine someone profiling their Dumble's, Vintage plexis, Blackface Fenders........imagine Joe profiling HIS tone and making it available! The possibilities are staggering really, there is even a school of thought that this could be as big as music file sharing within the guitar community, imagine that, "New this week to iTunes, download Jimmy Page's Orange and Claptons Bluesbreaker tones"

Re: Kemper profiling amp

Not nearly as much fun as trying to get YOUR tone from your own gear IMHO. (:

Re: Kemper profiling amp

I agree everyone should look for there own tone and identity. I still think the kemper could be a tool to do that. Most people will  prefer the valves of a dimed bluesbreaker and the sweet spot of a superlead when you push it over the edge, but in practical terms I don't have the space or the understanding neighbours that would let me play anything bigger than a 5 watt amp at half volume. Its just not practical.
