Topic: Disappointed.....

....
for a couple of reasons.
Mainly that I`ve only just come to hearing Joe`s playing recently. I don`t know how I could have missed it - but I did!!
I`ve been playing guitar for many a year now, I`m in a couple of bluesy bands and love to hear bluesy rock guitar played well. I`ve been a long-term fan of SRV, Hendrix, Page, Clapton, Haynes, Trucks.... the list goes on. BUT I don`t think I`ve ever heard so many connections all going off in my mind and heart all at once. So many gaps bridged, and what were differneces in my mind linked together in a way that made sense. Joe has brought it all together in a way that no other player has done. Just so glad to have come across him and his playing eventually.
I could go on but I`ll stop now - you all already feel the same anyway!!

One more reason I`m disappointed though is that the only gig he`s playing anywhere near me (Holmfirth in Yorkshire - I`m in Cheshire, in England) is sold out!! The other English gigs seem to be on the south coast (except for Bedford) - and they`re probably sold out too, anyway.

I just came to it too late for this time around - Oh Well!!
Looking forward to the next time around already!!

Hey, Birthday, welcome and obviously, happy birthday (is it today?).  I'm sorry that you'll miss the show near you, but you can watch the videos that other members have put up...and we still have Sloe Gin coming out on the 21st. smile

Hey Don, welcome to the forum.  Joe is indeed an awesome talent and is very refreshing.  You might check with the venues to see if they are going to release any more tickets.  Also, you might post on this forum under shows/reviews and see if anybody has an extra ticket.  If not be sure and get hold some of Joe's DVDs, that will help a little...

It`s not my birthday unfortunately - just a name that seems to have come with me from a couple of other places!

I have already ordered the Signature Sounds.... DVD and seen several of the clips here and on YouTube. I will be sure to be onto the albums next. I know he`s been at it for a long time so is it the best idea to start from the beginning and work forward or is there a "must have" album to go for first?

I`ll keep my eye open for tickets here and elsewhere. I may go to Holmfirth anyway, just to see if I can still get in somehow - unclaimed booked tickets....etc...

Did I mention that I haven`t felt this refreshed in my enthusiasm for the guitar for many years. LOTS of hard work/fun to get down to.

Don't worry Don, you can never be too enthused for this group. Almost all have come in shock and awe AND , as you said, with a new kind of hope. Favorites run the gambit here and eventually, if you really are afflicted, you will have them all. In my opinion, you need a live DVD (both are good) and "You and Me". I say Y&M because in interviews Joe says the new CD is a f/u. Live Joe is a MUST! I agree.. get to a show. Some how, some way! It will really bring it all together..mind, heart, spirit, as well as your "naughty" side. And make sure you get right up front because that's were you'll find the Bonamaniacs! I can't wait to hear a report from your Bonabaptism. Get to know Michael Lynch if you can. He's "Our Man" in England!!Read his reviews, etc. on this site. So, welcome to the forum, come back often. There as many musicians here who share massive amounts of knowledge, so have fun.................Cathy

Hi Birthday. Jeez I'm sorry you are having difficulty getting a ticket for Holmfirth Picturedrome. Partly my fault I'm afraid as I block purchased about 15 tickets to introduce some of my mates to Joe. (who have you told about Joe today) Only problem is, that one of them may have to pull out, leaving me with one too many tickets. He still might go, but stay glued to the website and you may be lucky.

You have found the real deal in Joe. There are not many who compare. And his fan base is growing exponentially. the venues will get bigger. It's such a shame Joe is only doing 5 dates in the UK this European tour. But hey, we'll see him again - and I'll be there with another hoard of converts!

Welcome Don - If Joe's show isn't too far for you, I would try to go - there could be
unclaimed tickets, or people outside looking to sell a ticket - maybe there is a
"waiting list" you can get on.  GOOD LUCK!

Don, I dont know how its done over there, BUT! if you really want to see that sold out show, you'll get in. I call it "greasing" the door man, money talks trust me, just be cool and smile your **** off, its worked for me a couple times.

Hi Don, welcome to the music world of Bonamassa.....hope you find away to get a ticket .....look at Ebay...... at the moment i am bidding for the Poole ticket ..... booked a flight before looking at the gig tickets....got ticket for Tavistock but not Poole.......

Welcome Don

You will find this forum full of friends, all with a common love of wee Joe's music. This guy is fantastic live so pull out all the stops to get a ticket for one of his UK gigs. If you can't manage along then get your hands on as many of his CDs as possible and look forward to the next tour.
Joe is such a road monster that it will not be long before he returns for some more shows.

"Hi,
Is there any way to get tickets for the Joe Bonamssa gig on 5th August??
Unclaimed pre-booked or cancelled bookings or extra released seats?
Is there any way I can be let know of any such eventuality PLEASE!!??

"follow the postal procedure on the website..or call in between 7.30 and 8.30 any night..we expect to have sold all our allocation in the next few days..PC"

I have posted off payment for a ticket (going on my own/better chance of just a single ticket) today.
I know it`s a long shot but I have to try and I thought I`d let you all know - just in case!!

Hi Birthday, I'm so glad you got a ticket. First I had one spare, then two, then my brother in law (ex actually, as I'm now divorced) virtually held me against a wall to get both of them, when he found he could go afterall. He's seen the tape I did of last year's Pacific Road gig and wouldn't take no for an answer.

Yep, quite a hoard of Bonavirgins going with me this time, 15 in all. The Street Team are doing their best Joe. How about a mention if you read this??? LOL!!
