Topic: epiphone limited edition with jb sig

is it really a good investment for a collectable

Re: epiphone limited edition with jb sig

Not really. A fine instrument for the money, but I'm not really aware of a burgeoning collector's market for Epiphones (even those produced in relatively small quantities). Joe signs lots of guitars, not because he wants to make them "collector's items," but because he loves guitars and wants to please his fans. Buy it to play it, not to store it and flip it down the road...

Bought the one on ebay with the signature lacquered over as 1) future player for my grandaughter, most important, 2) possible collectable just because of 1st 1000, 3) Joe's signature an added bonus, nice to have. 4) High price now, but probably worth it down the line, and even if not, still a great guitar.   Thanks for the reply

Congrats! Hope your granddaughter loves the guitar. The gibsons and epiphones are both like children to Joe. smile

Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

If you get a really good deal on one you'll see over the years that it holds it value.  I had a first run that I got from Musicians friend as a scratch and dent for $500, and as much as I like the guitar I mod things and couldn't touch that one for fear of messing with its value.  I turned around and sold it for $800 off of Ebay a month later.  There wasn't a scratch on it, the tone knob was broken and MF replaced it and sent the broken one as well.  Its great deal you can't go wrong with it.
