A rather strange evening. Started with two support acts. A trio with pedal steel and acoustic git that played some old country standards, (good lady singer!), so so musicians, and a group of 14-15 year old budding metal rockers that decided that if you can't be good, be LOUD, and that they were. Painfully.
Richie's trio plus his daughter took the stage and did ok. She sang to help out since he had a throat bug and was not in good voice. They were good, but way too LOUD. I guess they took a cue from the boy band. We had front row seating but finally gave in and retreated to the back by the bar where it was a bit more bearable. These were the loudest bands I've ever heard at that venue by far. Smallest audience I've seen there as well. No more than 40 at the end after the teenies support group left.
I've had better musical experiences. Be glad you missed it Rockfarmer.
