If not for Jim Marshall, we'd still be searching for that sound!
Jim,
I've had the joy of owning a few of your creations. The first was a Practice amp that believe it or not sound great for 10 watts of solid state power. The next was my baby, a JCM 800 50 watt head. I bought it used and was unaware of the fact that you can't hook up your heads without a speaker load. Fried the Transformer, had it 3 year and did nothing with it. Then had it fixed played out 3 times and desided I am a wimp that hates lugging heavy stuff around and sold it for $400 6 or 7 years ago. I still love Marshalls though. RIP Jim.
wow! i am so sad. Jim Marshall is gone.he was the essence of rock-n-roll.the 60's and 70's sound would have been nothing if it weren't for Jim.
i remember when we played our first gig.i was a teen in H.S. and just knew the basics of rhythm guitar.our bassist and lead guitarist used Marshall stacks.what an amazing sound.
rock on Jim.you'll be missed.
