Padres pitching staff is starting to gel in spite of having lost some core players. Hitting is hard to say yet since the cactus league has that thin desert air that magnifies popups. Opener against the Dodgers will be fun.

Saw the cover of ESPN....errr or was it Sports Illustrated?? ....anyhow, it was Lincecum and Kershaw on the cover....last year Kershaw owned the Giants, he was 4-0 with a ridiculous ERA, all his starts were against Tiny Timmy....I hope the Giants score some runs this year roll ......I'm going to say the Giants win 95 games and take the division!!......actually I think Arizona will be the team in the West....no, I take it all back, the division is anyones to win....

Tomorrow is the day! Padres fans twist in the wind as a new tv deal holdout has the local cable looking at no coverage. mad Late injuries have several starters lingering in Ariz. AAA on the dl. On the bright side, a new pitcher in the BP, Cashley, has a flaming 101 heater with a 90 changeup! Our retired HOF closer quipped he didn't even have a 90 fb! lol Oh well, what the heck. PLAY BALL!

yeah, I know it counts but it really is just an exhibition game. Atlanta gets their start today vs J Santana at the Mets. Tommy Hanson, who almost died in a car wreck not too long ago will go for my Bravos. Looking like it could be a tight NL East race, much improvement at WSH and MIA.

I swear Tim Lincecum drives me nuts, he throws way too many pitches, and that first baseman with that upper cut swing should not be owning Timmy like that.....give me some old school Drysdale and Gibson, make them really uncomfortable.....I'm going to go on the record and tell the Giants NOT resign Lincecum, his fast ball is back down to 90 mph, last year he could hit 94 fairly easy....Matt Cain got waayyyy too much money, he throws 200 innings year after year, how much longer before he has arm issues.....when some of the other pitchers get healthy, Barry Zito has to go, besides he came into camp with a boiler, I believe he could care less....Melky hit a rocket for a homerun, that was a great trade for the Giants, Dirty Sanchez wont do didily in Kansas City.....enough of the Giants for now

Same old, same old in Chicago. Cubs up in both games this season.1st game Kerry Wood comes in with two outs in the 8th, promptly walks three to tie the game, Marmol comes on in the 9th and gives up the game winner.
Today Woods comes on in the 8th, gives up 3 runs, Marmol relieves him and gives up two without getting a single out. Our set up guy and closer give up 5 runs and can't even get out of the eighth inning.
It's gonna be a long season.

Yankees and Redsox are 0-3 for the first time since 1996....Miami gets shutout its first two games in there new park, oh yeah Ozzie admires Fidel for being in power so long roll, shut your pie hole dude....the Giants can score runs, but they cant win hmm....but who cares, the weather has been great....

with the offense on the fritz, the Braves are also 0-3. Got a few hits yesterday but could not pull a comeback vs Mets. And they are not that good, could be a long season for us as well. We go to Houston tonight, what ??? the Lastros are 2-1 and jumped all over Jamie Moyer in one of the games. I think it's great that a 49 year old can still play the game, but let's get real about it and say he just doesn't have the arm anymore. and it won't help having to pitch home games in Colorado.
