Re: Check out this lady!

Wow, I just got off her website. I'm going to pick up her cd. There are a couple of samples on it, throw in the you tube stuff, and you got some one very talented. You couldnt see real well what she looks like on the video, but she is quite attractive. Does anyone have her cd, and what do you think of it?

Re: Check out this lady!

Orianthi comes from my city in Australia actually. i never got to see her live because she got signed to a managemnt deal early on that sort of messed her around and they wouldn't let her play local gigs, she had to wait till the contract was up then she left that management. Its a shame because she is REALLY talented and now just when she is going somewhere she moves to the US and I still haven't seen her live!

Just announced on her myspace yesterday was that she was picked by Steve Vai to supprot him on 6 dates of his latest US tour. Vai has been in regular contact with Orianthi since she was 15 years old when she actually opened for him in Adelaide, he is obviously a fan. If that doesn't prove her worth as a guitarist, I don't know what does.

I haven't actually bought that album yet but what I've heard of her music so far is its sort of rocky/pop stuff but with awesome guitar solos. That album was just recorded at home as far as I know. I'm waiting for Orianthi's debut album on Geffen, itd be interesting to hear where that takes her music.

SMOKIN in more ways than one. But gotta agree with Nic, she seems bored.

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late

Re: Check out this lady!

She's young, she'll find her comfort zone on stage, might want to change her hair, much to attractive to hide her face. I was reading some you tube comments, one guy says " I never seen a girl shred like that", ditto! At least she doesnt go Derek Trucks, dude looks like a statue sometimes (LOL)

Yeah, but when you play like Derek Trucks, who needs stage presence?

I agree Deezer, Derek has little to no stage presence.  But having meeting him before he is the nicest you want to know (next to Joe).  Great slide guitarist for sure...

Music is good for the Soul...

Dont get me wrong, he is amazing. Just making an observation. To this day, the best gig I've seen in Sac. town was Derek and his band, they brought down the house at " the crest theater" a few years back.

I was too. You could say we were both observational. smile

geez not everyone is a screamer if you catch my drift
i'd personally rather her look bored than some bizarro guitar face - but like some of my favorite musicians if thats the way they do it - wacked out guitar face - cool as long as they keep playing well

good stuff there - singing too

ha ha - john mayer faces are the worst!

Re: Check out this lady!

He doesn't do that much anymore, I've noticed. It seems when he grew the longer hair, he quit doing it.
