I strongly suspect that this topic would be of greater interest (and more correctly belong in) the Gear section, rather than in Off.

I love Les Paul. To get some of his gear would be so cool... but not for looks. I fee like he treated his guitars like science experiments, like a 15 year old kid just got a job at Radio Shack and wanted to install all the parts he could into his guitar. The looks aren't all that great on them either.

Always been a big fan of his contribution to the music industry in terms of guitar, electronics, and multi-track recording. AND Les Paul is from Wisconsin, so I give him hometown props cool

Here's a shot of the restored one I had the link to a while ago with the period correct mic jack I donated. This belongs to a private collector but is one of 3 '58s Les owned. You are right about him hacking them up. Always the experimenter. How many gits have you seen with a mic jack? The mic was on a short gooseneck that let him talk or sing and control with a switch and gain pot visible at the bottom of the picture on the guitar. https://picasaweb.google.com/1120472275 … 5223093970
