I remember when the bathyscaphe Trieste made the first dive to the deepest point in the Marianas trench with Walsh and Piccard. It was like an underwater balloon with kerosene as the hot air equivalent.

This article has been around since 1955, but I recently just read it for the first time. I LOVE THIS STORY. You don't have to stop and view the clips to get the gist of the story, read the story first. (It even ties into music) wink
