Why is it called Django when it sounds like Jeff Beck?

I remember from the Dutch radio interview that Joe did that the story is something like this. The song was inspired by a melody from a song called "Vous Et Moi" (French for you and me) that was recorded by Django Reinhardt probably back in the 30's or 40's. Even though Django was an incredible guitar player and worked with renowned violinist Stephane Grappelli I believe Django is the one playing that melody on the violin. I think I'm going to look further into it myself.

Re: "You & Me"

Django sounds like something Jeff Beck would do to me for some reason, Great song.

Asking Around for Youis my favorite, starting to pickup up on the guitar work, as well as Bridge to better days and i Don Believe... nice blues tunes and are coming together, if someone wants to help me with the tab give me an email, id be happy to share what ive learnt.

Hi, first i want to say it´s a great album, i love to hear it.
But i have also a question: Why did they choose 06-06-06 as the release date? Is this with a meaning or simpley not?
Thanks, Martin (Holland)

Coinsidense? Or, could there be truth in the Crossroads deal…. Like Robert Johnson‘s?
You know Robert and Joe share the same birthday………. lol!

In my own opinion….. (which is not worth much)… it was coincidence. These release dates look pretty harmless as June 6th , especially several months prior to the release, instead of the 06/06/2006 or, 6/6/06.

Anyway, no matter how you sum it up…. It’s one hell-of-a CD!

I keep coming back to Tea For One. It's just so epic. That or Your Funeral And My Trial. But if there was a bona fide hit, it would be Asking Around For You.

Re: "You & Me"

Asking Around For You is sappy.

Blues ain't nothin' but a good woman gone bad.

Re: "You & Me"

In a good or bad way?  I love the song.

Sappy or not, it's still a great song.

I gotta agree with Deezer as i too keep coming back to Tea for One.It's just a great song all around.I think Doug Hentorn is superb doing vocals and JB is equally great on the drums.
