Topic: Hi! New JB fan here!

Hi!
I'm Rikard 24 from Norway.
I've just discovered Joe Bonamassa but have already become a huge fan!
It started with my father introduced me to blues music 2 years ago with his idol Stevie Ray Vaughan, and i was blown away by the montreaux '85 live concert. Stevie got me really interested in guitar playing and i bought my own SRV Number 1 "replica" by squire last year. I really suck at playing but i try to practice almost every month wink
The 2 last years I've been looking for other blues/rock guitarists as good as stevie, but nothing hit me like the day i heard my first JB song. I was searching Youtube for guitar music a few months ago and stumbled on to the studio video of the song "Stop" from the "ballad of john henry" album, and i thought THIS is cool guitar playing!
After i heard a few other of his songs like Sloe Gin and all the other of his biggest hits i downloaded the live show from Royal Albert Hall.
That is by far the coolest concert i have ever seen and i hate myself for not finding this guy earlier.
I know JB played in Norway last year but i didn't know about him then and he's not visiting us on the Europe tour in 2012. That really sucks!
The JB songs i like the best is where he really uses his guitar skills. My favorite i think is "mountain time" from the Albert Hall concert.
The only problem with listening to Joe's music is that nobody on my age listens to music like this. Actually none of my friends has ever heard of Joe Bonamassa. I Guess i'll have to teach them about real music^^,

And tonight i have taken the step and ordered both blue-rays, Live from Royal Albert Hall and Live from the Beacon Theater. I'm really looking forward to watch them in High Def on my TV with good sound!
I also want to buy the rockpalast DVD and A new day yesterday DVD (I really like live concerts wink ) but i have to wait until i can pay for it tongue
Right now I'm listening to Blues deluxe from RAH witch also is a great piece of music.

I guess there is loads of spelling errors here, i failed my last English exam.

Last i will notify Joe (I'm sure he reads this) that he has to visit Norway again VERY soon.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Your English is fine far better than my Norweigan. Enjoy the discussions and post whenever you feel like it. Remember it's fun.

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: Hi! New JB fan here!

Your English is great! I'm a year younger than you but I listen to this music, it's just a shame that it's not "mainstream". I've got both of my parents into him and a few of my friends. So I know what it's like to have a hero no one has even heard of!

Also it doesn't matter WHEN you get into him, you're a fan now and that's what matters and part of the community. That's a really cool introduction big_smile

Hey mister Jelly Roll baker can I please be your slave?!

Re: Hi! New JB fan here!

Welcome to the forum rioi. As the previous respondants have said, no need to apologize for the English. All of Joe's fans pretty much started the same way. One listen and hooked hard. Just spread the word like all of us have been doing. Good music is hard to find nowadays, but this is the place. Now you can explore the volume of fan vids up on utube. A link to my channel is below on my link bar. Lots of live stuff there. Have fun and post often.

Welcome Roi, and enjoy the forum. Joe is such a hard working musician that there is fair chance he will play at a venue near you at some point in the near future. Enjoy the pleasure of discovering Joe's back catalogue!

Thx for the welcome guys! smile
i'm really looking forward to be active on this forum. It looks like a real good resource for us fans.
I noticed that Joe himself also has an account an frequently posts here.. That's cool!
This weekend i have in fact almost learned to play Django on my guitar. Its pretty simple, but i suck at playing so its hard to make it sound good:) I'll just have to practice more^^
For those who's interested, heres a picture of my guitar.
By the way the most important goal for this guitar is to get it signed by Joe big_smile

Photos must be put up to a file sharing site and then link posted here. Keeps the bandwidth down and server running cool. Your link is a dead end.
