Topic: Hello from East Sussex, England

Have been hanging around on here for a couple of years now, and finally decided to take the plunge.

I got into JB a couple of years ago via the John Henry CD, and then the High Voltage festival. I went to the festival with my brother with our main interests being Steve Hackett & Marillion. They were great, but we were absolutely blown away by JB. I had a look at this website the day after the High Voltage performance and was amused by the description of JB's live performances as being 'transformational'. Sorry, but that word just doesn't do it justice!

I also saw him last October at Hammy Odeon and am looking forward to seeing him next week at Brighton. Have started to build up the back collection, but what amazes me is that this guy can't do any wrong! He has the voice, the songwriting, and is a magician on the axe. And by all accounts he's a great guy too - a fantastic role model for our times. Feel privileged to have found out about this incredible musician when I did.

Sorry for the rant!

Great you and me both. I'm going to Sheffield no matter which show it will be long and full on excellence. Welcome and enjoy the forum. Do a write up of the Brighton show and set list if you can.

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: Hello from East Sussex, England

Re: Hello from East Sussex, England

good afternoon and welcome. Have you spent time in the Guitar Amp Keyboard (GAK, big yellow and red building) shop in the Lanes looking at Les Paul's  supercroc66? I know I have!

My YouTube channel with plenty of my Joe's videos dating from 2009 inc his first Hammersmith Odeon ones:

Re: Hello from East Sussex, England

Thank you very much for all the kind replies. I live in Hastings too Romans8! I haven't been to the GAK shop in Brighton but it sounds great. Alas I won't have much of a chance to look GAK before the gig because I will be going straight from work.

I do remember at High Voltage that we met a kindly couple after the gig who were very friendly and took the time to tell us a bit about Joe & his music. They were very kind. I have been trying to convert a few people to JB at work, with mixed success - I may have to tone it down slightly!
