Topic: DSL100 effects loop

Hi guys

Just joined the 100W club! wink However, when using pedals through the effects loop (delay and reverb), there is a huge volume drop. I've tried switching the cables around but to no success.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Re: DSL100 effects loop

Welcome to the club! Hey check the the little switch beside the Effect Loop jacks. There is a Loop level switch there if I recall correctly - you need to poke something in there to engage it or disengage it. I had the same issue when I first got my DSL. Enjoy the new amp!

When I used my Carbon Copy in my Egnater Tweaker's FX loop I had the same exact problem..Volume dropped big time. As far as my DSL 100, never had any issues? I'd do what Kevman said, but otherwise I have no idea. What exact pedals are you using?

Hi Kev,

Yes I pressed that button in and out and didn't seem to have an effect on it. I'll try again later maybe I didn't try all the combinations as far as the button/cables go

Hi helrazr84, I'm using a Boss reverb and Boss Delay!

Re: DSL100 effects loop

Maybe try one at a time and see if either one in particular is causing the problem. Are you using a pedal power 2 or something? batteries?

Hi, it can't be the pedals because I've been using them out of the effects loop all night and they work fine

hmmmm.....

Re: DSL100 effects loop

I've also had no problem with my DSL 100 effects loop.......I've pressed it in and out and nothing happens....even the manual doesn't state what its for!!!!

Its to set the Line level.  If you use foot pedals you want low power, if your using processors you want high power.  Its on page 5 and is a under the rear pannel functions 3. Effects loops.

Are you sure you got the pedals plugged in correctly?  Its possible the leads need to be swapped.  If that isn't it then it must be something a miss.  Take it to a tech, it might have a bad cap or something.  You know what they say they don't make them like they used to.

Re: DSL100 effects loop

Is the volume drop just when they're connected or on?

So when using compact pedals should the button be in or out?? That's what I meant by the manual not stating which is high and low ie in and out!!

Re: DSL100 effects loop

I see what you mean now.  It looks exactly like the front pannel switch for the Bass and tone switch modes.  My impression is when the bass switch is out then the bass isn't boosted, and when the switch is in then the bass is boosted.  Since they mention the low line level first I would think that the switch out is the low line level and the high would be switch in.  Purely a guess though.

Re: DSL100 effects loop

Hi guys

thanks for the help! Turned on the amp today and tried the effects loop again and it works fine for some reason haha!
