I took the liberty of amending the title to incorporate this season too, unless you serious fans want to start afresh with a new topic for this season. If so, someone post up a starter (maybe with predictions) and then this one can go down to the basement.
This thread is all good for me. Spring training now and too early to make any calls.

thanks George, that works just fine, they cover it year round anyway. After what Jeff Porter went through losing his wife in the car accident, the Braves now have pitcher Tommy Hanson involved in a serious wreck and sustaining a concussion. It was a bad one apparently, they said he probably would not have survived if he had not been wearing the seat belt.

The morning rag had the over/under spreads for the NL West. G's on top, Pads at the bottom, even below the Dodgers, who still are looking for an owner.

Beware of those Snakes in the desert! the Giants have some new faces in camp, some guys that need to bounce back from serious injuries, and a thong wearing 1st baseman who needs a slumpbuster season. If the pitching staff is as good as last year the Gigantes should have a decent year. Oh yeah, then there's Zito.

It was the Reno line and they had G's at 87 1/2 wins, Dbacks at 85 1/2. Zito? Will it be Jeckyll or Hyde?
The wife has told me to get down to Phoenix for some spring training....maybe in 2 weeks, if you love the game, the fans are simply amazing to talk to....we will see

Shreddy pop over to Papago Park and say hi to Manny during Spring Training. You won't see him till June 2nd in Kansas City when his suspension is up. I think Billy Beane took a page outta Bill Veeck's book on how to put some butts in the seats. actually heard callers on KNBR this AM callin' to say they can't wait to see him in Green & Gold. I wonder if he approached Barry Bonds before Manny????

I watched most of the Washington Nationals vs the New York Mets yesterday, Bryce Harper was playing right and batting low in the lineup.....the count gets to 2-2, and the Mets pitcher throws him some 89mph straight cheese, the kid fouls foul tipped it, he was mad....memo to the cocky young buck....WHEN YOU GET A COOKIE, YOU CRUSH IT!!....89 mph is batting practice, so get rid of the makeup, get a haircut, and remember that your a kid, trying to play with the big boys....as Dale Jr. said...."if you cant run with the big dogs, stay on the porch"

P.S....I'm actually pulling for him to make the team, just have to humble him from time to time
SD got the first shot at the new Mr Yu, and almost got a home run off him. He will be an interesting story to follow, a lot of press converging on him now.

The Dodgers have new owners. I assume they were a deal @ 2 billion dollars. Actually a helluva deal for former owner Frank McCourt even after he pays his ex 131 million. He bought the team for 430 million in 2004. Still the team we love to hate in these parts!

yep, time to crank it up. We have high hopes in Atlanta, even though Chipper has had more surgery and will miss the first 3 weeks or so. He says this is his last year, he'll be lucky to make it through this one. I figure he's good for only 90 to 100 games, but could still pinch hit in others. Our bright spot right now is Freddie Freeman at the plate. I don't know what he has batted in preseason, but his last 5 hits have all been dingers. Another one yesterday vs Mets and it was a bomb to right center. One of those where the outfielders take one step and stop to watch it. He is projected for only 20 homers, I think he could end up around the 30 mark. PLAY BALL !!!
