I DVR'd this on WHYY in Philly Monday night & watched it when I got home from work yesterday. Incredible. I cannot wait to get my blu-ray. Midnight Blues, The River, Down Around My Place, Fire & Water.......I loved it all. Great teaser & the interviews were great too. So happy to see Joe getting this well deserved recognition & exposure.
Joe looked really great, also on his interview with the host.....if yall are looking for ALOT of songs, only a handfull, I was hoping to hear much more, but great exposure for JB

P.S. I already know I will be so proud of him and the Bonamassa Band

I don't normally stay up so late on a school night, but from 9:00-10:30 PM I'll be glued to the tube (and listening through my best headphones)!
I am so happy & proud to be a Joe Bonamassa fan

Joe Bonamassa, you are out of this world .
The PBS show was just a sampler, of course, but what a sampler! Got to see “Slow Train,” “When the Fire Hits the Sea,” “Midnight Blues,” “The River,” “Blue and Evil” (oh HELL yeah!), “Django” (with a nice little hint of “India” in the intro), and “Mountain Time,” plus duets with the inimitable John Hiatt (“Down Around My Place”) and Paul Rodgers (“Fire and Water”).
Speaking on behalf of all of us who pre-ordered the DVD weeks ago: Yo, J&R...faster, please!
Music Fans: Just watched the IPTV show...waiting for the arrival of the Beacon Blu Ray later this month. As a friend and fan of Joe since 2004, here is my short summary:
A.) Tal Bergman has changed this band. I always loved Bogie but, Tal plays forward and strong, making a dynamic percussion section (along with Carmine) which plays to Joe's strength as a musician.
B.) Joe's vocals continue to get stronger.
C.) The performances of his guest's i.e John H., Paul R., specifically their songs, are a testament to how far Joe has arrived but, also, his band makes their songs sound new and fresh. Rock on.....
I (tried) to watch it last night...
I use DirecTV - and get the local WILL/PBS station from Central Illinois - but somewhere in the signal chain for that channel (and *only* that channel) was a lot of noise, so the signal would drop out - picture would freeze and get pixelated, audio would drop out - and that happened through the entire show... I even had it recording to my DVR, and it recorded exactly as I was seeing it...
Completely unwatchable and I'll have to try/hope it comes around again... *sigh*
Oh yeah - there was no JoBo interviews mixed in either - was just the local people doing the fund drive pitch.
And that's the news from Lake Woebegone!

I was disappointed that we didn't get to see the interviews with ours last night.
It was probably due to the preceding event which was some Doc talking about his "Brain Program" I yelled at my TV to get him off because Joe wasn't starting on time and then I yelled,
"WE'RE NOT BRAINIACS, WE'RE BONAMANIACS!!!!!!!"
And he was irritating ta-boot..........

That's interesting Sis.....we had that same cat selling his brain books before ours also (we dont need no stinking brain books) , but still had the pledge master talking to JB in between 3 or 4 different songs on the 1:30 show

Getting back to last night (IPTV) guys: I have not seen Joe since Ames, IA one year ago. I am simply amazed at the maturation as a musician and performer. This band is very hot. I have seen in the last year, ZZ Top, Blues Traveler & Los Lobos, all of these in a ballroom atmosphere and great performances....definitely not phoned in. However, Joe still stands out to me as the finest showman / performer I have seen in the last 8 years. Apparently there is no limit to where he will go. Carry On.

Not too shabby Cathy
Cathy, is this still correct? The guide shows MPT2 on March 24, but none for March 9. Is it showing on another affiliate, perhaps? (WETA/other?) - Thanks - Looking forward to catching this before the bluray hits the street!!!
Although 3/09 is in the written program guide, I just got a return call from MPT stating it will be aired on MPT2 on the 24th! They said an hour and a half, so I hope that means interviews included Cathy
I saw them air RAH on PBS and the actual edit they showed was the 60 min Palladia show. The extra 30 minutes was asking for donations. Pledges received tix and of DVD's as gifts.
Watched on Louisiana PBS last night. It was about an hour of music interspersed with Joe interviews in the studio for another 30 minutes. It was such a contrast seeing Joe the badass playing and singing on stage and Joe the any mother's son or boy next door on the interviews. He comes across so well in the interviews, very articulate, gracious and down to earth.
The show aired on WTTW Chicago had no interviews with Joe. Like Jim said, an hour of music and a half hour of the host gushing about Joe and asking for donations. They also auctioned off and Epiphone signed by Joe. I'll have to review the show (I recorded it), but I think it went for about $3000.
I watched the PBS break-ins between the concert songs (didn't want to watch the concert until I get the Blu-Ray) - noticed them offering the same deal as last year - $250 pledge gets 2 free tickets. This was where I noted that Joe's returning to Dallas 10/30/12 again, followed the next day with him back at "The Old Lady on Brady" (Brady Street Theater) in Tulsa - This One-Two punch was spectacular last year, very much worth the drive to see him 2 nights in a row. Only one thing I would warn you folks about. The Meet and Greet last year in Dallas included all the people that had bought tickets from the PBS concert - if they are offering the same Meet and Greet again, then I would caution you regarding using your lithograph tickets to meet and greet Joe during a concert that has the PBS crowd - there were so many PBS'ers there that there was nothing personal about the meet and greet like you would expect. I spoke with Alexandra Martucci about it later after the concert and she was very surprised to hear that the meet and greet was not a personal one-on-one affair as it had been for lithograph purchasers at other concerts. I'm not sure if this issue has been "fixed" or not, but I was fairly disappointed to be standing in a room of almost 100 for a not-so-personal meet and greet in Dallas last year.
