Well....takes a deep breath....all of you know me know that I am not a fan of censorship, or of closing topics unless there is a really good reason to do so. (I am voicing my own opinion, Jim may disagree.)
So, while I understand your fears Stu, I hope that this topic can either die a natural death or, possibly with an amended title, continue as a general 'moan' or 'complaint' thread - without overstepping the general standards that we tend to adhere to around here! I understand why Pearl posted here after doing a search for JBXP, this is where you wind up.
Pearl, I agree with Bill's comment that you are, sadly, indeed throwing out the baby with the bathwater. You withdrawing your 'support' from Joe because you are unhappy with how one or more employees of J&R manifest themselves on JBXP, seems to me to be a gesture that is both misplaced and futile.
Even though I have not shared your recent experiences, I understand your points, and would have reacted with the same distaste to censorship and deletions. Like some others here on the forum, I realized quite some time ago that the direction XP was heading in was not somewhere that I wanted to go, so I simply stopped going there.
You are clearly articulate and passionate, and sound like you would fit in fine here. This forum is a very different place to XP, and yes, there has always been an undercurrent of 'us' and 'them' because many people here have been following Joe, and posting on his forum, for a decade or more now! Naturally, people like that cannot help but feel and react differently to lots of the new developments in JB world than people who are just discovering Joe. It's the nature of the beast.
If you don't like XP (any more), just don't go there. That's no reason to 'take it out' on Joe by deciding you're no longer 'into' him. Do you really think that with everything that Joe has to deal with while touring the world, he's also got time to keep tabs on what all the people who work for J&R in one capacity or another are saying or doing on the web? Of course not.
In conclusion, I think that Pearl has raised an issue that others have previously already hinted at. I'm sure that Roy, for example, would certainly like to know if the remarks and actions of certain J&R employees are leading to significant numbers of defections from JBXP. Although, it is also in the nature of the interwebz beast that some people will, at some point, no longer visit certain sites that they previously spent a lot of time on.
I apologize for the length, but at least I"ve got paragraphs.
